Harry Kane

Yep, spot on. What amazes me are fans, usually Villa, Everton etc who come out with similar shit. ''It wouldn't be so bad if it was united''. Really? The same united who BSKYB had shares in, the same club who consistently broke transfer records, spent more than anyone else in the league despite winning titles in previous seasons and who have spent something like 900 mil since they last won the title. That's some weird logic.

Villa and Everton both have wealthy owners now. Do they really think if it wasnt for FFP they'd be spending similar amounts as they are now? Of course they wouldn't, they'd be like we were initially after the takeover, trying to bridge the gap. Villa are already doing a budget version of it. FFP is what's holding them back, not City. But they're all too bitter to see it. Fuck 'em.
1.4 billion to be precise

Of course, do you not think he would prefer us over the other contenders? Time will tell but he is a fan, his dad plays for us, we are developing into the best team in the world and we have a slot available for him.
Nobody knows. He might fancy London, infact reports the other week said he fancied Chelsea who can offer him what we can - money and success. Too many just say 'let's go and get Haaland' as though it's a given he will come here. Doesn't work like that. Not everyone wants to come here.

It still doesn't matter, we don't buy to resell, and in the instances we do because it doesn't work out, we are not the scousers who need to make a profit or break even on selling on to fund a replacement.

Resales value, though handy isn't important to our model, as has been evident for a while.

Most of our generated profit on a player from sales has been academy products not first teamers.

Still anything over £100M is overpriced imho, but up to the club to decide if they want to do ii
Wherever it matters to us or not you still have the pay the fee! It is then up to you what you do with the player, we can easily get 10 years out of a 23 year old, not so easy with a 28 year old.

Things is we cannot really hope the fee would be low if we set our spending power at 100m for Grealish. Kane has to worth considerably more than that in any scenario. One has good potential and 1.5 great season at a mediocre Villa, Kane has a much better international record, some CL experience with a final too, and years of PL experience being in-out top4 and scoring 20+ multiple seasons.

When I say more, I mean at least 50m more. If we offering 100m for him Levy would be a fool to agree right now. The longer this goes on I think the chance we have to include players grows imo.
Only can think of Ake or Jesus to go there as they would get their first team role there that they will never get here.
It would still be a large chunk of money, something like 70-80m plus Jesus.
that to me a better deal than paying 140m for Kane and ending up Jesus going on one of those loan-option to buy to Seria A.
(this all depending what role Pep has for Jesus next season, I would assume a limited role as Kane is about to eat up much of playing time as a striker, that includes all the playing time Jesus just had last season centrally which he only had due to Aguero being off almost all season)

We could simply agree to not play him in that game mate.

I can't see it being that that's causing the delay.
You can't make official agreements like that, but no one can stop an unofficial agreement, with "Kane not quite match fit" being the cause of his absence.

However, Levy isn't the type to risk us going back on such an agreement. He's more likely to draw the process out so Kane definitely couldn't play against Spurs, & so they had little time left to buy a replacement, so he can save most of the Kane fee.

I pooed myself when it was revealed Spurs are £1.2bn in debt because of their stadium.

But with no ffp owners could put in whatever they liked, and given Sheikh Mansour is more than twice as wealthy as abramovich that would be great for us.

While I agree to an extent of devastating the pair of red scum, i wouldn’t want the Geordies or any club as another challenger to us, I’d rather see City absolutely dominate every season and win the quadruple every single year. That would be my ideal scenario anyway.
Would you really want a squad that has Kane and Mbappe up front with Lewandowski and Halaand on the bench with Oblak, Alexander Arnold, Sterling and Van Dijk?

Ok, we don’t know. Hypothetical question: let’s say he has indicated to us he would come in 12 months - would should we do now?

Which is why I’d stay clear. With Alfie and the fact he was an admirer of city growing up, wearing the tops, going to games you would think that was enough to lure him.
On top of our current manager and squad too. If he’s then motivated by other reasons it will be why we aren’t linked with him. We’ve shown many times if a player isn’t committed we will go elsewhere and I’m sure with his sausage fingered agent the most motivating factor will be money sadly.

Great post, if I remember rightly the scouse bastards voted for ffp, Villa didn't. I think the shithouses at Reading abstained which got the vote through. I would normally have had a bit of sympathy for the Villa, but because their fanbase consists predominantly of fuck nuggets, I have none.
