No wonder Kane wants to go somewhere where they win Champions League Finals.

It’s quite simple really.
Top players like Kane are only interested in one thing and that’s winning trophies. They don’t care about money anymore.
Spurs culture as a club is that of seeking profit above success on the pitch, v much like Arsenal. Making the transition from a financially successful outfit to a winning team capable of trophies requires sustained investment in player recruitment (as we know success is not immediately related to investment) and this means deep pockets and being prepared to take financial risks as well as having the right people in the right places in the club’s management structure.
Spurs simply don’t have this. Their management is simply preoccupied with balancing books and have saddled themselves with a shiny new stadium which has scuppered their chances of investing on the pitch. They will remain a selling club for the foreseeable future.
Simple.

Things is we cannot really hope the fee would be low if we set our spending power at 100m for Grealish. Kane has to worth considerably more than that in any scenario. One has good potential and 1.5 great season at a mediocre Villa, Kane has a much better international record, some CL experience with a final too, and years of PL experience being in-out top4 and scoring 20+ multiple seasons.

When I say more, I mean at least 50m more. If we offering 100m for him Levy would be a fool to agree right now. The longer this goes on I think the chance we have to include players grows imo.
Only can think of Ake or Jesus to go there as they would get their first team role there that they will never get here.
It would still be a large chunk of money, something like 70-80m plus Jesus.
that to me a better deal than paying 140m for Kane and ending up Jesus going on one of those loan-option to buy to Seria A.
(this all depending what role Pep has for Jesus next season, I would assume a limited role as Kane is about to eat up much of playing time as a striker, that includes all the playing time Jesus just had last season centrally which he only had due to Aguero being off almost all season)

Why would Ake want to go? Only been here a season after getting an injury surely you're not writing him off already?

Of course, do you not think he would prefer us over the other contenders? Time will tell but he is a fan, his dad plays for us, we are developing into the best team in the world and we have a slot available for him.

There’s losing champions league finals and there’s finishing 7th in the premier league and taking the manager who wasn’t good enough to stay at the team who finished 13th. No wonder HK wants to go somewhere where he’ll be competing for the PL and the CL rather than staying and fighting for the Europa reserve league. Choke on your bitterness

If it needs explaining, that explains why you're on here instead of somewhere else.

But I'll indulge you. Spurs under Poch were a good team, one capable of yes, getting to a CL final (albeit with the right wind in your sails and some interesting officiating). That was largely down to a combination of Poch being an excellent coach, and Spurs having chanced upon a collection of players who actually had the potential to do great things.

What Levy proceeded to do was rip all of that up because he has not the faintest idea about football. From the sacking of Poch to the appointment of Mourinho, to the scattergun approach to finding a coach to replace Mourinho. Or we can go back further. Just go and look at Levy's record of managers. To suggest that him and the organ grinder sat on his yacht care one iota about the footballing operations in any serious fashion is just a joke.

They're chancers. Greedy chancers who are only interested in a profit. That's why you'll never win anything serious. You're not a serious footballing operation. You could do well to learn from a club like Leicester. Hell IMO Villa are going to overtake you if they carry on the way they are. They seem to have a better grasp of how to be progressive.

Still, you've got that shiny new stadium to watch NFL games in. Maybe they'll make you a trophy for having the shiniest stadium in the league. Oh and this weird obsession that the Spurs' fans have with Kane's value speaks volumes about how badly brainwashed you've been by the ENIC rhetoric. There's not a price that can be put on KDB's head because serious clubs don't sell their best players ... regardless.

I have a longer view than you.

When Sugar took over Paul Gascoigne choose to sign for Spurs rather United such was our position in the football. When Sugar left, Spurs were regularly fighting relegation. Aston Villa would pretty much always finish above Spurs but many would say that we were similar clubs.

This is the point that Enic took over. Now we don't fear relegation and sometimes we even play in the champions league.

I can not remember when Aston Villa last finished above Spurs. It is many years. Maybe in the early 2000s? Nevertheless you say we should try emulate Villa who you say have a much better football strategy despite being relegated since Enic took over Spurs and selling their best player - something you say a serious club would never do.
