I'm sure the club want him now but if it saves £10-20m by waiting a week then they'll wait a week. That's negotiation. Our club is run by guys every bit as savvy as Levy and we also have books to balance.

Just don’t agree. Waiting a week would not save us that. Levy won’t suddenly accept materially cheaper. We go in now at what we have as our top. If Levy rejects it on the basis of “a week longer for another bid” he’s a very brave man.

We won’t save that money now. The negotiation has (or hasn’t) been all summer. We are 2 games into the season now.
Anyway, sounds like it isn’t happening now.
