Harry Kane

Not sure, noone else was interested of him for that money i guess.he has a few years to prove that he is that good. Still need a world class striker if we want to fight for all the titles.chelsea is getting stronger and they already beat us 3 times in a row with werner, who seems to be even worse than sterling in front of goal.
That no one else was in for Grealish is not relevant to judging his ability or worth. Lots of teams would love to have Grealish but very few could afford to pay his release clause.

Secondly, even if other teams would have paid his release if they could afford it, Jack has been steadfast in wanting to join City so we were literally the only game in town.

Aside from Jack's obvious footballing ability, it's also abundantly clear already that he is going to be very very marketable in a City shirt.

Be interesting to see the media narrative if he joins us.
At the moment he is pretty much untouchable, captain and saint harry etc.
Will this be spun round - saying he's a sell out, bad role model etc - basically a complete character assassination from the press.
Will this happen?
Of course it will all change if we sign him. Injury prone 28yo, terrible euros, mercenary, signs of decline, not guaranteed to start due to Pep's false nine obsession etc. Any more?

Will be exactly like that, and an even bigger backlash than against Grealish. Grealish has always had his critics with his off-field antics so the fall from grace hasn't been that hard. Kane has almost been knighted by the media, joining that "dirty oil-club" will be seen as a treason against the crown. Very brave by both Kane and Grealish in my eyes.
Some clowns were mentioning the Grealish car incident last night - no mention of that last season!
The Agenda is back in full swing. Personally i'd ban all the press from the ground.

Yes, the immediate need is a striker, the club are obviously working on that and they have looked at the books and are confident they can do both.

When people post similar to what you have, I think they are missing out on a few things, both immediate and long term needs, but particularly long term. You want the striker problem solved - the club hierarchy have a few years worth of business planned out.

1. Bernardo is likely leaving.
2. Kdb is becoming more injury prone and we need another creator for when he's out.
3. Grealish is a few years younger than KDB and will be up and running by the time kdb moves on or retires.

If we don't get Kane, the problem isn't "we bought grealish and didn't have enough for kane". It's "why didn't we have a second priority to Kane". The club have a valuation of kane they are willing to pay. If they don't want to go over that, they should have an alternative in mind if levy holds his nerve.

The Grealish and kane transfers aren't dependent or link to one another. Give it a rest.

We were three games from a quadruple without a striker last season. Aguero was already missing in truth. Grealish makes us better so we have done what we needed to and improved an already impressive squad.

Kane clearly answers a problem for us and gives us the option to play a variety of alternative systems. We can go long to him, cross to him or play a false 9. Torres could improve and fill that role more impressively or others could. Jesus might even knuckle down and deliver.

There is no 2nd option. Haaland isn't a goer and who else is there that has a CV as impressive as Kane's? For a club that has won nowt he has scored and created a shit tonne in so many different competitions for a sustained period. The club would be panic buying if they looked anywhere else.

Others might have improved too but we have added the most creative player in the league to our squad and are trying to add the top goal scorer too. That's a fucking statement of intent to everyone in England.

Spurs are desperate to tie up a deal for another striker before selling Kane. Problem they've got is nobody decent wants to join Spursy. Although with Inter Milan in liquidation Martinez may not have a choice. Can see Vlahovic staying at Fiorentina for another year on an improved contract with a decent sized buy out.
  • Want someone decent
  • Buy Lautaro
Objective remains unachieved. I watch a lot of Serie A mate, this guy is heavily overrated by the football world because he's good on computer games. He's very much at a Spurs level.
