Harry Kane

It's nice to hear from someone who is an actual City employee, or at least knows what goes on in the meetings instead of just a fan who reads Twitter

Coming from someone who thinks we are playing football manager and just click our fingers to get the best players out there.

Mbappe and Haaland have been unobtainable. We have been in for Mbappe in the past and rejected and you are talking about a fee for him that is probably equal to Kane and Grealish's cost combined.

There is a reason no one has bought Haaland this summer. Dortmund can quote what they want and player and agent know they can leave next summer and take the money themselves that Dortmund would absorb this sunmer.

Kane is coming off the back of an excellent season. He looked sluggish in the euros because he was the only striker Southgate was willing to play and he played every minute pretty much. He performed better in the Euros than Mbappe that's for sure.

Great, another itk. Who knows what Mbappe/Haaland are thinking.

Can you ask him why he doesn't want a move to the world's No 1 club team.

I don't appreciate you trying to make me look like a complete idiot thinking we are playing FIFA. Or some other mindless fucking game.
I don't remember saying we could click our fingers.
I said I'd have preferred we went for those players. That's all ...
Unfortunately for people that feel as I do Pep sounded completely hung up On Grealish and Kane

I'm not bothered about signing him he's bit old and slow in my opinion, looked leggy in the euros, and prone to injury. I don't think grealish was worth anywhere near what we paid for him when nobody else was in for him.
I wish we have gone for Haaland and Mbappe instead of grealish and Kane.

It had been published in the past, mbappe didn't want to move to city. His dream is to move to Madrid. Infact he isn't signing an extension despite their president pushing it forcefully.

Haaland isn't pushing for a move, very happy at Dortmund. Won't be surprised both move to Madrid next year.

Mbappe on a free, Haaland for his "cheap" release clause.

Madrid is the biggest club in the world and their president has been preparing for this by offloading high earners of their squad, such as star CB Pairing Ramos and Varane.

On the one hand, I get it. Kane isn't a superstar like that, he's not a flair player about to announce himself, he's not a signing that will break the internet. Another factor is that for many, he'll never quite feel like a "City player" in the way that Haaland could've done after years. For some, he'll always feel like "Harry from Spurs who came and did well for us", almost like an extra line of code to an already-existing algorithm, than an essential part of the code itself.

On the other, much bigger, hand -give your head a fucking wobble and get hyped about the best striker in the league.

He scores penalties like a psychopath. He's the biggest aerial threat since the Luftwaffe. He's been giving every part of the country trauma by slamming goals past every team in the Premiership for a decade. He's as clinical as a surgeon's knife. He can ping passes across the pitch that KDB would be proud of. He's willing to get back and defend. He's got every chance of ending up as the league's all-time top bagsman, he's wanking over the thought of coming here, and Pep Guardiola has been insistent that he's the right man for two years. I know all the flaws and risks, but I can't help but feel we're becoming a tad entitled as a fanbase for not being hyped up the rafters about this being a possibility.
Spot on.

surely if he breaks shearers record whilst at city as well

Who is to say we did ?
Who is to say we didn't? That's the thing we don't know if we went for them or not. All you can do is trust the club with their judgements. But with most elite players, I am sure the club would be aware of these players situations. Firstly Pep needs to want them which includes various factors like fitting into the side, blending into the team etc. and then the selling club needs to be able to sell.
Due to these/some factors obviously the club have decided not to go for Haaland and Mbappe. Not only us but no other club went for these two players this summer, which points to them being unobtainable. I am sure loads of Chelsea fans would have preferred spending on Haaland than Lukaku as well.

On a side note, I think PSG wouldn't sell Mbappe at all even if he leaves on a free next summer (which I doubt he will). I wouldn't be surprised if he extended at PSG.
