Dumb question, but, was Harry Kane actually on striker last week?


None of the City English contingent were back last week. We'd already heard stories going back to a few weeks ago that Kane might miss the City game, which wouldn't have made sense had he been due back last week.

We're hearing about how Kane and his brother are idiots, but have they been on the receiving end of a hit job by Tottenham/The English Press/Both?

Why would neither his camp.not the club deny it though then? The training return watch went on all week, every day, and noboduy thought to say he's actuallly due back next week chaps?

From where I am sitting I’d spend 150 on Haaland rather than Kane now.
But I don’t have the knowledge Txiki and Pep have to lay out a plan. Maybe Haaland and/or his agent already made up their minds. Maybe they think Delap can make the step and Kane is the perfect one to step in and give Delap more time. Maybe they want both Kane and Haaland for next year. I don’t know. Nobody does really.

On the one hand, I get it. Kane isn't a superstar like that, he's not a flair player about to announce himself, he's not a signing that will break the internet. Another factor is that for many, he'll never quite feel like a "City player" in the way that Haaland could've done after years. For some, he'll always feel like "Harry from Spurs who came and did well for us", almost like an extra line of code to an already-existing algorithm, than an essential part of the code itself.

On the other, much bigger, hand -give your head a fucking wobble and get hyped about the best striker in the league.

He scores penalties like a psychopath. He's the biggest aerial threat since the Luftwaffe. He's been giving every part of the country trauma by slamming goals past every team in the Premiership for a decade. He's as clinical as a surgeon's knife. He can ping passes across the pitch that KDB would be proud of. He's willing to get back and defend. He's got every chance of ending up as the league's all-time top bagsman, he's wanking over the thought of coming here, and Pep Guardiola has been insistent that he's the right man for two years. I know all the flaws and risks, but I can't help but feel we're becoming a tad entitled as a fanbase for not being hyped up the rafters about this being a possibility.

raiola is an extra greedy pig, also haaland seems keen on staying one more season. Kane chose city, these things matter. You dont want to buy Haaland and having him and his agent cause trouble and wanting to leave in a year or two. Too much similarities to the ibrahimovic - barcelona mess

Based on where Haaland has achieved success I think he is still potential. Paying £150 million is the cost of a finished article for me. That’s the mistake the market makes a lot. In the past Barcelona, Real etc are always too quick to pay too much for the latest new toy and it doesn’t always work out.
Also don’t want Alfie and Mino’s travelling circus pimping their star performer rocking up like a smutty escort agency trying to be high end.

Kane fits us like a glove. Mbappe especially would create issues. Haaland might work out.

What I don't get is this "They'll be unstoppable" wankfest over the new PSG front 3. There will be some incredible moves and goals, but has having so many superstars (and superegos) together in a front 3 ever worked?
Let's face it, Mbappe, Di Maria and Neymar hasn't lit up the French or Champion's League.
Messi, Aguero and Di Maria never set the World Cup on fire either.

Teams like City would dominate them in the middle of the park with these 3 amigos taking regular selfie breaks. I'm personally looking forward to all the hype being sunk in the Seine.
