Harry Kane

Kane fits us like a glove. Mbappe especially would create issues. Haaland might work out.

What I don't get is this "They'll be unstoppable" wankfest over the new PSG front 3. There will be some incredible moves and goals, but has having so many superstars (and superegos) together in a front 3 ever worked?
Let's face it, Mbappe, Di Maria and Neymar hasn't lit up the French or Champion's League.
Messi, Aguero and Di Maria never set the World Cup on fire either.

Teams like City would dominate them in the middle of the park with these 3 amigos taking regular selfie breaks. I'm personally looking forward to all the hype being sunk in the Seine.
Same here. All that wanking on BBC yesterday over Messi to PSG left me thinking, I hope they win fuck all and we get to dump them out of the CL again.

If I were PSG or Dortmund I wouldn't be happy about these 2 running their contracts down
Real Madrid lurking. Mbappe and Haaland.

Really we are talking at the moment about the past. That circus in Paris. We are chasing the best of our current time. Meanwhile Real Madrid are building their stadium and they will be future-protected.

On the one hand, I get it. Kane isn't a superstar like that, he's not a flair player about to announce himself, he's not a signing that will break the internet. Another factor is that for many, he'll never quite feel like a "City player" in the way that Haaland could've done after years. For some, he'll always feel like "Harry from Spurs who came and did well for us", almost like an extra line of code to an already-existing algorithm, than an essential part of the code itself.

On the other, much bigger, hand -give your head a fucking wobble and get hyped about the best striker in the league.

He scores penalties like a psychopath. He's the biggest aerial threat since the Luftwaffe. He's been giving every part of the country trauma by slamming goals past every team in the Premiership for a decade. He's as clinical as a surgeon's knife. He can ping passes across the pitch that KDB would be proud of. He's willing to get back and defend. He's got every chance of ending up as the league's all-time top bagsman, he's wanking over the thought of coming here, and Pep Guardiola has been insistent that he's the right man for two years. I know all the flaws and risks, but I can't help but feel we're becoming a tad entitled as a fanbase for not being hyped up the rafters about this being a possibility.

One to watch, this kid.

Kane is a little short term imp but who can see the next prodigy coming? Maybe he's in our own youth ranks now?

We need to keep an eye on all talent. Pretty sure we are. The clubs that will be successful are those dominant clubs now who find the next Mbappe. Kane is the main man now. But we really need these guys when they are 22 with their best years ahead of them.

I want Kane for this season and next but this is an ongoing battle
Good point well made.

It's nice to hear from someone who is an actual City employee, or at least knows what goes on in the meetings instead of just a fan who reads Twitter

Yes. I think they don't like to do that because it could be a bit off putting to the 2nd or 3rd choices. Imagine joining and being told "we wanted Mbappe but you'll have to do".
