Harry Kane

Article 44.06 of UEFA competition rules

"Exceptionally, however, a player who has been fielded in the preliminary round, or in the first, second, third qualifying round or the play-offs of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League for another club as from the group stage."

If Spurs progress from this play-off they will be announcing their final squad by 2nd September.
And by 2nd September he will either be a city player or rotting at Spurs... probably for the rest of his trophy-less career

I’m not being funny but we really aren’t in a good position. We have one recognised striker who Pep doesn’t rate as a striker.
We just lost Aguero…
False 9 Ferran is like playing with 10 men. It’s crazy we’ve gone into a season this badly prepared!

At least Grealish & KDB looked good yesterday. We just need someone to bang in the chances we’ll create.

That free kick set piece we did would have been a goal if a recognised striker was on the end of it!
I agree its 2 summer transfer windows now in which we flirted around the Messi myth and then get left weighing up the ugly bird at the end of the night. City we are told are the most astutely run organisation in the League ..I'm really not so sure.

Summary of the Why Always Us? pod from Sam Lee and David Mooney as it relates to Kane:

Sam Lee has five to six sources at City that are confident and preparations for Kane's arrival are being made at City for this week.

Sam's colleagues at The Athletic have similar sources at Spurs saying Spurs have no intention to sell and Levy is refusing to pick up the phone.

Sam said if he worked anywhere else and had the info he has coming out of City then he would have already written a story saying City signing Kane is imminent.

Seems we have an alternative to Kane, according to the Athletic. It should appease our we don’t have a plan B flappers too.

“Manchester City have taken a surprise interest in Solihull Moors striker Kyle Hudlin, the tallest outfield professional player in Britain, Gregg Evans reports.

Representatives from the Premier League champions watched the 6ft 9in forward in action on Saturday and have joined a number of other interested clubs, including Championship sides Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.

Hudlin, who turned 21 in June, scored nine goals in the National League for Moors last season after moving up from Step 7 in the non-League football pyramid. His rapid rise could continue if he earns another move in this transfer window, and with City now taking a closer look, the chase is expected to hot up.

City initially started video-scouting Hudlin before watching him in Moors’ pre-season friendly draw with Notts County over the weekend. They are looking for young homegrown talent to then send out on loan and help develop.”
If we get him it will be to loan him out and sell him. He isn’t a plan B haha

Yeah I mentioned this in a earlier post today. It's obvious Sam has info, but there are a lot of Athletic writers who he'd be undermining by putting it out there.

Sam Lee gets his info from city sources and his other colleagues get it from spurs sources

Also worth noting what happened when Sam Lee went against the grain on the Grealish signing. He got a lot of online abuse, even though he was the only one who was right in the end out of that bunch.

I personally hope we do get Kane but as a short term back up I would have a look at Vardy. Surely he would not command a huge fee at his age.
He can’t play football. He can run quick take one touch and shoot. You have to play one way with Vardy which is counter attack. We don’t play that way and he’s an awful human being who loves being at Leicester because he does what he wants, only eats beans on toast and drinks red bull before a game.
