Well maybe we bid today, tomorrow, yesterday, last week, or we never make a new bid as levy is actually not listening to bids. I don’t know.

The person I was replying to is expecting news soon because he believes we made a new bid yesterday.

That’s exactly what they do yes. That’s part of the reason they get pay increases also.

I literally explained myself immediately after saying it, it's in the same sentence. If we tread water whilst our rivals improve and catch up then you effectively go backwards. There's time for that to change but that's currently the case with our squad.

I dp agree though that Chelsea should now be favourites for the title. Their side is now at its peak and possibly the best side in Europe. They had one problem, and they solved it through signing Lukaku.

If Spurs turn down a renewed bid where we are already at £100m for a 28 year old player, then there is nothing more to be done.

Yes. Grealish is a luxury signing, a player who doesn't neccesarily improve our starting 11 given his position is one of our strongest and most stacked areas in the squad. He's the type of signing you make when your squad has no obvious weaknesses or areas to improve and you're flush with cash. Neither apply to us this summer.

For every Torres that might improve with experience there's somebody over 30 on the decline. unless we have a team of eds players that evens itself out across the squad.
