Harry Kane

Imagine being Harry Kane now. You've just realised you're never going to win a trophy in your career. It doesn't matter how hard he trains or plays, he's stuck at Spurs until his 30s. It must be devastating haha!

Imagine being a Spurs fan knowing you have a player who's been at your club for years and really wanted out. Not much to cheers is there?

Imagine being Levy when everyone now knows you're unreasonable to deal with in terms of transfers. Other clubs will notice this.

Imagine being a player linked with Spurs. The chairman is unreasonable and won't honour verbal agreements.

I'm sure Kane will be dreaming of playing for us at the end of the season when we nail another haul of trophies!

I reckon the Sheikh and Pep have a surprise lined us

Tis what it is. He'd have guaranteed us a shed load of goals and I'd have been supremely confident that we'd retain the title. However, I still believe we'll compete for the title regardless as we have a plethora of very capable players and a coach who's undoubtedly the best in the business.

Figures quoted never sat easy with me so I'm satisfied with the outcome here.

It's going to be one hell of a season so it's time for us blues to think about what we do have rather than what we don't and in my eyes we have a brilliant squad of players that are the current Premier League champions.

Still don’t get it, did our guys just think Levy would end up budging and taking £100-120m?

He will go to the scum next year or year after Neville pushing it now

Current conversation on the Kane thread over at the Spurs forum is about whether or not it was wrong to call Adebayor's dad an elephant washer, by the way.

Not really. Levy never once entered negotiations, the stance was always he's not for sale but kane was probably the one egging us on and giving us the encouragement.

I've said all along none of it sounded right. Everyone refused to acknowledge what was being put out by journalists via spurs.

I'm actually relieved he's not coming but it's all on him because he was the driving factor in all this and city acted in good faith
The oddest thing were the claims that City had offered £75m plus add-ons. That seems strange. I just don't think we would be so stupid to start so low. And then leaks started saying Spurs wanted £160m...absurdly high. If you pitch too high or too low in any negotiation you often torpedo the whole process. I am not sure I believe any of these figures tbh.
You can never underestimate personal egos either. You can imagine someone like Khaldoon bristling to hear SKY news reporting: "Levy is not taking calls from City." That will have been briefed out by Levy's team. I just don't think City like people taking the piss out of them these days...especially someone who signed a poison-pen letter which tried to get us banned from Europe....before we had even made our defence. Just too much bad blood I think.
