Harry Kane

Why will we regret not selling the likely golden boot winner world class striker? It's not like we paid anything for him in the first place. If Spurs wanted to sell we'd have picked up the phone and negotiated. Also, who are these magical players we can sign that gives us a stronger squad? We can't attract elite players being in the conference and the ones that were interested like Martinez, aren't for sale.

Also, Moura is crap.
You may only get a couple more years out of him before rapid decline sets in. You're left with a player on very high wages and on a long-term contract that wants out. If you can't strengthen your squad with £120m then that says a lot about how your club is run. Not once have I feared playing you when Kane is in your squad. Son is the real threat and you're a much more dangerous side with pace on the counterattack.

I was very clear from the start that I didn't think Kane was worth anywhere near the figures being thrown around, especially considering his age. I would have just about been content at around the £70-80m mark. Any more than that represents poor value in my opinion. If your club value him at more than that then fair enough. I think it's a huge mistake on their part, but I don't really care. I'm just relived that we haven't squandered a stupid amount of money one someone that is 28, has injury concerns and could be over the hill in an couple of years.

Not really. Levy never once entered negotiations, the stance was always he's not for sale but kane was probably the on egging us on and giving us the encouragement.

I've said all along none of it sounded right. Everyone refused to acknowledge what was being put out by journalists via spurs.

I'm actually relieved he's not coming but it's all on him because he was the driving factor in all this and city acted in good faith

I really don’t follow your reasoning. It’s all about opinions of course because NONE of us know what has gone on behind the scenes. But as we’re airing our OPINIONS, I think Kane clearly wants to come but has been told categorically by his club that he’s not leaving. He hoped City could sort it but there was no way Levy was going to lose this battle.

I just feel this talk of a rapid decline is over egged. He isn't a player that relies on pace, and whilst he isn't blessed with the natural physique of say a Ibra or Ronaldo, he is ultra professional, doesn't drink, relies on movement and finishing etc etc He could easily keep banging them in well into his thirties. He's just turned 28 so he could easily have another 5 or 6 years at a very high level.

He will probably leave next summer anyway unless we somehow get top 4 this year which is a long shot. Thing is, Haaland is going to be a 200 million deal for anyone to do next summer when you factor in wages and agent fees, Kane will still appeal as an alternative option. I doubt in the next 12 months another elite striker appears from nowhere so there is a limited pool.

On strengthening the squad, replacing a 30 goal 15 assist a season player is practically impossible. These players just don't exist, whoever we sign would be taking a massive punt on and 120 million really doesn't go far.
