Saying I don't want him is a bit misleading. I wouldn't be unhappy with him signing at all I just don't think we have the need for him given his age, glass ankles, price tag and what else is available in the market.
I'm not convinced he suit us. At spurs he's the centre of everything, everybody else is his support act, he goes where he wants and shoots on sight. He wouldn't get any of that here, we won't change into the Harry Kane team, he would have to adapt to us. in our systems, the striker sees relatively little of the ball compared to the rest of the team and considering how much time we spend in the opponents final third.
They spend most of the time occupying space and players in order for the team to methodically create openings, Kane is a goal scorer and used to being the main man, he's going to do what he does at spurs and England and come short looking for the ball to get involved which will ultimately just get in the way of better players in those areas here.
Obviously he will learn just like any other player under Pep but that's going to take time. The main appeal with Kane is that he's already the finished article, that's whats going to add tens of millions to his price tag and it would be worth it anywhere else but he won't be the Pep finished article and by time he is, he will be approaching 30.
Can't help but think if we want Kane, you go out and probably spend less, but certainly not more on Haaland instead who has a higher ceiling, is 20 and gives Pep the opportunity to mould him into anything he wants for the next decade.
I think Kane would be lethal at Chelsea, he would suit them best and they would suit him best but thankfully for us, that move seems like an impossibility.
