Harry Kane

Disagree. If he's committing to staying at Spurs to help them succeed, then I think that's an honourable thing. Players get berated for lack of loyalty and caring more about money and cars, one club men are rare these days. I also resent this absolute "he has to win x or he's failed". It's something that's come from social media in football and it gets on my tits. Pep has to win the Champions League or he's a failure, Messi has to win the World Cup to be considered the greatest, etc. No. Football is a game of fine margins and there's only so many trophies going around which a single team can win. Shearer only won the title with Blackburn on the last day thanks to United slipping up away at West Ham. If that didn't happen, would he be a failure? Kane could end up beating Shearer's record, to imply he's a failure is just crazy.

Where did i say he would be a failure? I said a player of his ability has to win a trophy, that's all.

His career is a success whether he wins a trophy or not, the only person who has mentioned failure is yourself.

Aguero won 5 league titles, 7 domestic cups, 1 european trophy and an international trophy. We're not talking about the Champions League, we're talking about one trophy. A player of his ability cannot go through his career not lifting a single piece of silverware.

Even someone like Francesco Totti who stayed loyal to an above average team won 1 league, 2 domestic cups and a world cup.
Again why can't he?
Why does it bother you so much?
If Kane stays with Spurs and becomes their all time scorer which is likely then he will get plenty of kudos and respect, it also doesn't deminish his skills.
He doesn't have to win anything.
Hell there were people trying to say Messi couldnt be classed as the greatest player because he hadn't won the world cup, which is equally reduculous.

Besides who really cares?
Bar you obviously.

It comes from Kane himself stating he wants to win trophies - hence why he was linked with us and other teams, I think fans have kind of jumped on that too.

If he signs with Spurs again then he obviously isn't that bothered.
But that isn't what the other fella was saying, he is defining somebody by his lack of trophies by saying he HAS to win one.
If he breaks Shearers record be will be forever remembered for being the prems record goalscorer etc.

I would say Le tissier was the same, people banging on about him having a lack of ambition because he stayed at Southampton, why?
He was happy and that is the first and foremost thing you should be.

If I was good enough I wouldn't have left City because that would have been my dream.

I have little respect.for those Everton scousers who all sing from the red hymm sheet, those cunts could have made their own team great, not for me that, imagine pulling on a utd top, nope.

You care enough to reply to my opinion.

Why can’t people debate the opinion on this forum rather than come out with the same old “why does it bother you so much” and “why do you care” bollocks when replying to a discussion they weren’t even involved in. Weird.

We will see. It's a dilemma I think Ole' Harry is thinking about. Maybe there are just a handful of teams he'd go to (City being one). I could be wrong but I see him leaving in the summer if Spurs don't win anything. I agree with Le Tissier but I think he preferred being the big fish in a little pond. Kane is a different animal to Le Tiss. Again just my opinion!

Kane signed his deal that stopped him joining City, so that was his own fault and frankly I was happy he didn't come here for 150m, 6 seasons of 25 goals means 1m a goal wage not included, awful value for money and thats if he got 150 goals.
I don't know if he is signing with Spurs again it was what I had read and as we all know the papers are as trustworthy as the Dandy or Beano.

Spurs all his career so far, is that a little pond? Maybe big fish in a medium pond lol

100% agree...at least they have the Stadium going for them?! :)

The key fact is that whilst Spurs are a laughing stock, they should be challenging for the domestic cups, so he has a good chance of winning something there. It's not like Le Tissier at Saints because they were never going to win anything. Similarly, Shearer went to a Newcastle side that were looking to challenge for honours, they just couldn't quite manage it. Spurs have never managed to put a collectively good season together, but he may feel if they win the league cup that's enough for him as long as it's with Spurs. Or he may want more and decide to move, but he's not guaranteed a trophy anywhere else anyway. Some might have a better chance and don't have the historical burden Spurs currently seem to suffer from (it's not been that long!).

Harry is a fine player and his next league goal will bring up 200 which puts him in sight of Shrek on 208 for second place. It would have been interesting to see what he could have done for a better team but there is no guarantee that he would have thrived. At Spurs the team has been set up to play to his strengths and he might not get that luxury elsewhere.
It does seem a bit daft to tie himself down again. I don't think Spurs would withdraw an offer even if he took things right down to the wire so he may as well keep his options open.
