Harry Kane

Aguero was injured a lot and missed plenty of games. But as good as he was he also wasn't Haaland. Believe it or not I'm not trying to discredit anything that Erling has done this season just gone. His numbers are insane regardless. But, in my opinion, Kane deserves at least an equal amount of credit for scoring just 6 less Premier League goals for a team that doesn't have another world-class player in it. The fact that people want to cry about it here, I couldn't care less.

Mate, you’re having a mare.

The fact you think any decent striker would score 30 goals in our team is comical. I have to admit though, I’m crying, but crying with laughter :)

Watkins has managed to score 15 PL goals in what's been a poor to average Villa side until Emery came in some months ago. Are you actually seriously suggesting he wouldn't be capable of scoring another 10 goals in a team that creates as many chances as we do per game and has world-class players around him?

Yes. That’s not how it works.

It can actually be harder to perform and pull in numbers for a top team especially when you’re playing against parked buses 99% of the time, which clubs like Villa aren’t.

It’s like looking a Jesus at Arsenal (pretend he never played for us) and thinking ‘wow, he’d score 30 for us at least’ going off his performances for Arsenal.

Grealish was immense at Villa. Just because he comes to City he doesn’t start scoring or assisting with numbers on the level of Mahrez, Foden, Sterling or whatever. He’s even said himself how much harder it is performing at City’s level and that when he came he thought he’d bag loads.

The logic of your case just doesn’t work because otherwise we could just plonk a Watkins in our team for a fraction of the cost and get nearly the same result.

Ultimately Haaland gets the amount of goals he does because he’s the worlds best centre forward.

You make some fair points.

But my original point wasn't about Ollie Watkins. I just plucked him from my head when it could have been a number of players.

But ultimately, Kane scoring 30 goals for Tottenham is every bit as impressive and deserving of respect as Haaland scoring 36 for us is.

Haaland had other tournaments to focus on too, and got taken off a lot just as opposition defenders were flagging. Haaland could easily have gone over 40-45 in the league if that was all he had to focus on like kane. All in his debut season while he was adapting to a team not actually devoted to setting him up for goals.

Haaland 77 minutes per goal

Harry Hotspur 114 minutes per goal

That stat says it all, not that Harry is crap it just means haaland is so much better.
