What stood out for me in today’s game is how he isn’t a particularly great captain of this team

So let me get this right.

We’re judging a known profiling striker who scores goals without fail every season based on 2 games under well known attack-minded Southgate where the team has scored 1 goal?

I for one hope he’s here next season. He’ll take the piss in our team with the chances we create and runners off him. Like he does at Spurs with less chances being created.

People forget Aguero wasn’t exactly blessed with pace in recent years but still scored plenty based on movement and unbelievable finishing.

If he was snatching at chances, you'd think he just needs a goal. The two games so far have been embarrassing and his lack of pace is frightening. He can't be fit, which means Southgate is an even bigger idiot than we expect for playing him, but the concern would be that rather than fitness it's an injury he won't recovery from.

Think Torres at Liverpool after the injury, or Fowler at Leeds (& then us). Every player is finished at some point, it just comes to some sooner than expected. Without seeing something to say the real Kane is still there, dropping £100m would be a huge risk

The concerning bit is it could well be true and on each occasion he has been rushed into the starting lineup either on club level or for NT. He looks fatigued and not fit at all, shouldn't even have started this game

Shouldn't be starting the next game, that's for sure. He's miles off the pace.
