Harry Kane

There’s definitely a weird blind spot when it comes to Kane on here. So many people seem hell bent on talking him down when the facts of his performances for Spurs are just that. Facts. His goal scoring record makes him a 100 million pound plus player. All the other critiques about injuries etc are just misplaced. Hope we get him!

Spot on. Reading the views of people on here, you'd think it akin to signing Steve Daley all those years ago, when we smashed the British transfer record for a 27-year-old player who didn't even have a full England cap to his name. This prospective transfer couldn't be more different.

Kane is at his peak and will be for another couple of years. He'll be decent at top level for quite a while beyond that. In the PL season just gone, he scored more goals and notched more assists than any other player in the competition. In the current international tournament, he has four goals in three ties in the knock-out stage.

Now, if I could exercise a decisive influence over these matters, I'd probably take Haaland in preference. And, as England captain, Kane is going to command a premium fee. But if we can afford it, so what?

All things being equal, I think he'd score a hatful in our team. If we do manage to bring him in, I intend to enjoy watching him do that rather than woman about the price.

Nuno: "Hello, is that Mr. Kane?"

Kane: "I haven't got an Amazon account and I certainly haven't had a crash in the past two years so FUCKOFF YOU SCAMMING BASTARD!!"

Nuno: "Hello....Hellooooo"

If England win the euro’s today, then Spurs will not sell unless they get to pull down our trousers.

Harry Kane, would be the winning captain of the English National team. Just think what that’ll do for him in sponsorship, and any club he’s associated with. Spurs will see him as a cash cow.

Spurs, will have to pay him what he’s worth, with a new contract that’ll see him finish his playing career there.

The only way he leaves Spurs now, is if he requested a transfer.

More or less the only thing that matters to me is "will this guy score loads of goals" and the answer is yes. Everything else, like I said the other day, does feel a bit like a popularity contest. That's not to say that I don't respect the idea that yes, he's had injury issues. But that for me comes down to risk/reward. There's no risk as a) it's not my money and b) if for whatever reason it doesn't work out City will just go and buy another 9. We've been buying defenders for fun the last few years, but everyone is talking about the 9 position as if signing Kane would mean not buying another forward for a decade.

I'm all in because I want a 9 this summer and don't want to wait a year for Haaland or someone else. l want to retain the title again and have another big push in the CL and for us to do that I think we need Kane or a player of his ability. I also think if Pep is only here for the next 2 seasons, we absolutely cannot waste one of them forcing him to pull another rabbit out of a hat.

Dortmund want £150m if what’s being reported is true.

that's my case
reported over £100million for sancho and sells for £73 million. haaland is a season away from being £63million buy out clause. so you take the £150miilion and the £63 million and find a middle fee if he wants out now
manchester city will stick to the £100million tops because of the sancho move

Read that back what you wrote and you will see how silly it is..

You're going to have to help me out, mate.

Wrong look at the games he plays every season.

You lost me here.

Believe it or not, I'm actually correct. Kane missed 56 games through injury in five years. Aguero missed 63 games through injury in five years.

When they were both fit, Aguero was benched more often because of our strength in depth, whereas Kane started nearly every time because Spurs have none.

Unless I've misread your initial response then I don't really understand what you're not grasping.

1. disagree, kane is a better player imo
2. it wouldn't be around 100m this summer, they are demanding 175m. his wages would be by far our biggest earner according to reports
3. so what? it's money that you have to pay, kane's wages don't go to spurs but you counted it in his cost anyway

you can't just bend reality to your will mate

i never said that ?? i was saying the transfer fee is all that will get reported if its no undisclosed
wages and agent fee never get added to the whole package

£20m amortisation a year plus £200/300k a week in wages is a lot to shift "just to get another number 9". Especially a guy who has been running through treacle the entire tournament.

I think he’s got the ability to do the job, if not Torres has impressed when he’s played there. We can also revert to false nine, with Foden, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Sterling, all capable of doing that job. So no need to panic and no need to pay an over the top fee.

Jesus hasn’t got the ability to occupy and bully defenders. Aguero had it and so does Kane, we saw Kane bully Diaz and Laporte last October. No Aguero starting regularly has probably had an effect on Sterling’s game, it’s no coincidence playing in a 3 for England has Sterling flourishing whilst he struggled in a false 9 system. I don’t think Pep wants to be going into an new season playing with no strikers which felt like it was more like a make do solution last year than how he really wants to play.

In announcing Aguero leaving to Kane talking about a need to win trophies makes me think this is already done. The Euros has just put a delay on it.
