100% agreed with the last part. Outside of England nobody gives a fuck about Kane. Haaland is already twice his popularity internationally. If the difference in wages truly is ~150K a week, that can easily be offset by the increase in revenues etc.I’d rather pay that than £300k for Kane.

The answer is they are putting vast resources into acquiring this talent, because they believe that they are assets that will grow in value. To play or to be sold on.
Identifying and acquiring this talent is the basic of the clubs economy
The club have already received circa £200 In sales from the ex Academy players.
