Harry Kane

I also think it will be this summer or never. We need a top striker for next season, I don't think it is a position we will take a risk on, false 9 or not.

People say we will not spend 100 million + on anyone, I think that only applies to recently, we haven't needed to, to secure our signings. If the right player came along, I am sure we would, if it made business sense.
 
If we can’t get haaland I wouldn’t mind Kane at all! Plus if delap stays he could learn a lot of Kane.
 
Personally I don't think kane works for us. He doesn't have the energy levels to keep up with our players. He looked out of place in the England match with foden, sterling, etc closing down, chasing everything, quick 1 2s, breaking quickly. He was goosed by halftime.
Plus we do so well now because every player (mahrez included) have upped their work rate as a team. He would want insane wages, insane fee and would we get value with his glass ankles.

Why is it embarrassing I dont want kane at City.
We have a very good team spirit and I didnt want a Billy big bollocks coming in and upsetting the apple cart
Kane is all about Kane.

Would prefer to see Torres given ago as centre forward than Kane

Probably going to end up the top goal scorer in Premier League history, probably going to break the England all time goal scoring record, great in the air, deadly finisher in front of goal, excellent link up play, top of the assist charts, done the business year in year out in the Premier League, and desperate to move on to a club where he can contribute to winning trophies. Still, you guys know best ;)

It’s certainly an embarrassment of riches that some of our fans can look at Kane and still have a different preference for the striker we should sign. You are correct that Kane would probably contribute a lot to any team he moved to. Doesn’t mean he needs to be everyone’s first choice, considering there are many factors involved. The fact “winning” is something so far removed from his brand certainly doesn’t help

A crock, goes missing in big games/against big teams, has a team built around him, lack of mobility and pressing ability (something that Pep values highly), no pace, older than haaland, dealing with Levy is a pain in the arse, pressure and focus of having the England captain in your team could take away from the team ethos and togetherness.

I keep hearing this but let’s look at his stats for the past 5 seasons:

16/17: 38 played 35 goals
17/18: 48 played 41 goals
18/19: 40 played 24 goals
19/20: 34 played 24 goals
20/21 46 played 31 goals

I don’t think he is that injury prone. He seemingly averages about 40 games a season which is about the same as KDB has played for us this year to put it into perspective. His ankle issues I would imagine could be managed better with a lighter work load. As it is now if he is fit he starts every game, with us he would be rotated and kept fresh like with every other outfield city player.

But most importantly just look at that goal to game ratio. He is absolutely world class and would improve us as a side immeasurably imo. Kane is a guaranteed 30 goals a season striker in this side for at least the next 4 seasons imo
 
Voted no purely on the basis that I would really love Haaland given his age, dynamism, etc and the fact that Kane’s fee would be likely to be ridiculous.

If we can’t get Haaland and Kane’s fee is acceptable then I think he would be phenomenal in a team as good as ours. Can’t see Levy playing ball though.

Across the seasons you mention, he has missed 56 games through injury.

If you watched Kane today you will see his class. He hit the post from 25 yards out early on and it was not even half a chance. Just before half time he used his physicality to screen the ball (not speed, he has none) and run through from 35 yards out to draw the goalkeeper and challenges before leaving Coady and Patricio on their arses before tucking it away. Lesser players would have simply fired in the shot at 1st opportunity and it would have been blocked.

Not only is he technically very good, his footballing brain is shit hot, and at circa £100m is an absolute certainty to be a success. To not bid for him would be lunacy.

we can’t have striker coming in and shooting on site he has to pass it half dozen times first..
 
It's not that I wouldn't want Kane, I'd just rather Haaland if possible.

If not then who would really turn their nose up at Kane.

So long as Levy doesn't act the ****, somehow. Missing out on the Champions League, possibly Europe altogether, might force his hand into accepting closer to £80-100m than the touted £150m

I'm praying we sign a striker this summer
