Harry Kane

Random question but completely related to the debate in this thread.

If Alan Shearer was 27/28 and playing in the Premier League today - how big a fee do people think we'd have to pay to get him?
A lot. But kind of an impossible question to answer.

With his goalscoring record, you'd put him on par with Kane etc, so probably similar prices being thrown around.

How can you possibly judge them before they have kicked a ball for utd....lots on here were desperate to have Sancho back for starters.

This idea that utd arent improving is blue tinted specs at best...blind arrogance at worst. Will they threated to the league title this year....I dont think so as that will be Chelsea and liverpool but utd are buying decent players and have improved under the hobbit from PEG
1st sentence. Are the anti Kane and Grealish posters not guilty of the same?

The rags are much stronger than last season, fact, but the one enormous weakness is still there are will prevent them from improving, Little Ole, as long as he stays nothing will change.

Weird situation to give him a new deal with the likes of Conti twiddling his thumbs.
Let's get a few games into the season before declaring 'fact".

Ole is their big weakness, I agree.

As long as we get Kane and Grealish it doesn’t matter who they’ve signed.

If we don’t get Kane though it‘ll be a disappointing season I fear. This team of players and Pep deserve a proper goal scorer to finish off all the chances we create. It’s such a waste if we don’t, like having a Ferrari with a one litre engine in it.
The underpowered Ferrari still won the league title and got to the final of the Champions League.

Last season, new season new challenges.

The return of crowds will make a huge difference, especially away from home.

Incredibly important we get off to a decent start, especially with our fixture list.

In his prime Shearer was a far better and more dangerous player than Kane.

100% fit Alan Shearer 150m

We are all guilty.

We could sign Kane and he flops just as could Haaland, however good a player looks at another club, there is no guarantee they can settle at another.

It took a couple of seasons for two of our greatest players Kompany and Zabba to look anything like players.

I assume you meant Kane?

Far better and more dangerous? In what way? Kane is on track to smash Shearers record out the water and become the all time Premier League goalscorer. Shearer was lethal. An out and out goal machine and probably the best finisher I've ever seen but to say he's a far better 'player' than Kane needs some explanation.

It's almost like you're completely ignoring Kanes range of passing and assists.

Prime Shearer had pace, strength, dribbling, power, and was a hard bastard who could mix it with the best.

No doubting Kane's goal scoring but as a CB/ defender I would rather face Kane than Shearer.

That is also an argument with Kane/ Haaland, Kane without doubt at this time a better all round player, but Haaland must be a total nightmare to play against, his physic , pace and power different level to Kane.

That's what makes Kane great doesn't it, his numbers are up there with the best, despite barely anything about his game being appealing. He lacks everything for the masses that a modern 9 has, but in reality he's got all that and is a top finisher (except well, pace).

I am not knocking the guy (Kane) his record says it all, he is just not a player that I have ever taken to, each to their own.

I feel we lack pace in the final third, sometimes far too predictable, especially in the tight games, we all witnessed it in the Chelsea games.(Under Tommy T)

Chelsea has Werner, a player struggling for goals but a player who is always a constant threat because of his pace.

Pace is incredibly important in the game.

@Pollocks OG

What a great watch and really likable character, comes across as an honest, genuine, dedicated, intelligent, ambitious and driven man. Watching that really impressed me and taught me that I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.
It's admirable that he is family orientated, doesn't drink during the football season and is such a model professional.
Not sure about American Football Punter but he could have a career in golf. Let's hope he can have a few rounds with pep and Kyle next season.
I'll admit prior to watching the video I generally disliked the guy, in hindsight totally unfairly and purely based on footballing perspective as an opposition player.
