The longer it goes on the more I want him. He will score a shit ton. Break shearers record and secure us multiple trophies.
Can I offer an alternative way of looking at this? For us, it's long drawn out, we want it done and the longer it goes on the more frustrated we are. From the outside looking in point of view it's like chatting to a girl on tinder for weeks, saying lets meet up then and she's always got an excuse to why she can't come to Spoons for a romantic burger n free pint. Eventually you get to the point where you say this 8/10 girl's not interested, she just wants the attention and you need to cut your losses and move on.I’ve been following this thread as much as most blues and I’ve been hopeful we sign Kane, but the longer it has gone on the more I’ve become disheartened. I was never fully sold on spending 100M+ on a 28yr old, now I am dead set against it. I hope we steer clear now. I hope we go with what we have, and I’ve now doubt with our squad, we’ll still be in the mix! I hope we give Delap minutes and I hope next year, we are in the conversation for Haaland or Mbappe.
Pfft. Amateur. The number of times a day I check this thread hoping for good news.....

Does the fee matter to us though? What does paying this much mean? Does it mean we pay more next season or a few seasons later? Maybe. But then does that mean that price is the same price other teams have to pay? Meaning in paying this we've priced other teams out of future transfers? We can afford it more than them.I think we desperately need a striker. Chelsea are looking formidable and they may even further strengthen. I wouldn’t be paying anywhere near the figures reported for Kane though. I’d be just about content at £80m. Anything above that would represent poor value as far as I’m concerned.
I’m not even convinced that he would do as well for us as many believe. His age is the main thing going against him. It doesn’t seem sensible to risk such an enormous fee on someone that may rapidly decline in a couple of years.
If we can’t bring in someone that can play at a high level with high energy output for the next 6-7 years then I’d rather bring in a stopgap for this season and reassess the market next summer. We could even close the holes at left-back and/or CDM with any remaining funds.
Is it kane or spurs?Sounds like they are pushing.
Like I said last night, if Kane accepts the revised terms it’s D-Day
I am still confused why people talk about "letting our best striker go" . Aguero barely played last year and when he did was largely a non-factor. You can certainly argue we need a striker but we are not worse off in that department than last year - in fact we are likely better off as we may get something from Torres and Delap.I've never been keen on Kane, his value to spurs doesn't match his value to us, I don't think he fits into this side and there's potentially better available. However, we've seemingly put all of our eggs into this basket so we simply have to sign him now at any cost. We've had Pep and khaldoon comment multiple times about refreshing the squad and not standing still after a title win, letting our only striker go and bringing in another technical left midfielder to compete with foden, sterling, torres, jesus, mahrez, Bernardo, gundogan and kdb for the same role doesn't push us up a level.
We cannot go into the season strikerless. Yes we managed fine last season without one but it was far from ideal and every single one of us on here at some point bemoaned the lack of a striker. Expecting us to produce similar results without the element of surprise and the unknown that we had last season with managers not knowing how to respond to it and after our rivals have heavily reinforced is unrealistic. Liverpool went most of the season unbeaten and got 99 points 2 seasons ago with what was an inferior squad to what they have now on paper yet nobody expects that to happen again.
I had the same idea earlier Al. Even if it were shared out between every contributor to this thread it would be a fair wedge. I could do the maths but I fear that I would only depress myself. If he doesn’t, could I be considered please?
It's a pretty tuneless violin if he has one, as it leaves him with a disgruntled Orchestra leader and an ensemble little if any better than last yearI think Levy has been playing us like fiddle and never had any intention of selling Kane.
That chinless t@@T should only be allowed to bow before them, he has not yet earned the right to unveil anything of our, yet.Harry's already been booked to unveil the Vinny and Spanish Dave statues this weekend.
He would be playing but the club are worried he'll have split his sides laughing when he sees the statues.
130m is still far too much in this market£130m plus add-ons is 'way below' Spurs valuation? Strange comment.
Nothing wrong with a cnutBut levy is a **** and we will deal with him despite him being a ****!
to be fair he says including add-ons, not plus add-ons£130m plus add-ons is 'way below' Spurs valuation? Strange comment.
