Kane is not worth £150m, not at his age. We have to draw the line somewhere, and whilst it’s frustrating if we don’t get him I’m hoping the club can get Ronaldo instead, or another shorter term striker then go for Haaland next year.
Kane is probably worth more to Spurs as he’s their best player, so I can see why they set the fee so high. They don’t have to sell or lower their price, why would they?
But we desperately need a striker because no-one we currently have is a good enough finisher. We can’t rely on midfielders always getting 10-15 goals a season, we create so many chances we just need someone to put them away.
Ronaldo would be a smart signing, especially on a free or even about £25m. But not £150m for Kane, maybe if he was 23, 24, but I think City are right to walk away. And I say that as someone very very disappointed we won’t be signing him.
