Harry Kane

not sure if serious

Not sure either, but is it that unimaginable that he would sign for them?

Totally agree that he wants to move for trophies, more than for money, and newcastle may be a bit away from that. But if he doesn't get to move to a club capable of winning now, which looks likely, would he not move for the money then, big final paycheck ratherv han staying at spurs in discontent? Levy would sell if he got what he wanted and gets to maintain his act.

Not at all saying I think it would happen, but as hypotheticals go, it isn't that unthinkable.

It’s possible that Kane could be convinced by Newcastle’s new board that they’ll win more trophies than Spurs during the next four or five years, I think he’d move there potentially.

They’ll need a decent manager and have to spend about £500m in the next two transfer windows though.

FFP?

the PL FFP ruules still limit a club to losses of £110m over three years do they not?

I've lost track of the exact numbers but yeah sounds it you are right I think.

Still an amount that allows for significant loss over the 3 years.

I would think it is reasonable to expect big investment from them, they wouldn't have gone through the lengths to buy it. It is interesting they have put a longer timeframe on winning things, 5-10 years I had read.

Shows how rubbish FFP is though, Why should they be restricted so, really.

Can’t see it. Even if things go well at Newcastle, Kane will be 30+ before they catch up with Spurs and retired before they catch up with City. If he moves it is to win things straight away.

Unless he has accepted he wont get that move now, to win things. So its stay and win fuck all for a lot of money, or move and win fuck all for a lot more money. Assuming we aren't going back in for him or landing him.

I’m more certain every day he’s going to end up at Newcastle. Their new heir to the ’legendary Geordie number 9’ shirt, ‘Wor ‘Arry’ and all that.

Unfortunately, it’ll be spun in the media that we couldn’t afford him, trying to damage our image further. For ten years the narrative has been we‘re ruining football, state owned, etc, now they’ve admitted we only have Sheikh Mansour’s wealth and Newcastle can spend on Kane and Mbappe with impunity.

I give it until next season when the spin is that they’re a bigger club than us. Media change the story to put City down no matter what we do. One of the reasons I get so pissed off we don’t just tell everyone and ffp to fuck off like PSG do and blow half a billion in one summer. Damned if we do, damned if we don’t.

Dont think any one will pay what Levy wants. The choice for Newcastle is aim for the stars or shoot for the moon.As with City they will waste a lot on Wayne Bridge type signings. They will eventually get it right however the red shirts FFP will hamper them.On FFP if a team fails it are they really going to expell them from the brand?

Newcastle's biggest issue will be location, they will have to pay huge premiums for players to go up there and even then it will be a problem for them long term.
