The system Southgate plays isn't made for Harry Kane and that's down to the manager to find the solution. Not only has he done this to Kane but also Phil Foden, Saka ect He hasn't played to the squads strengths and that's been the downfall.

But he also wasn't making the runs or getting into the positions to receive that service. His first touch was also pretty bad which has nothing to do with the system. His link up play is usually an important part of his game and attacks were breaking down when he got the ball.

I like Kane. He’s had a great career (lack of silverware apart) and should be treated with a bit of respect for that.
This tournament though, it was blatantly obvious from the first game he wasn’t fully fit and the fact he started every game with the exact same result shows a manager not fit for purpose.

Clueless manager with clueless tactics, playing players out of position and not to there strengths is gonna lead to what we saw, Kane, Foden and a few more looked shit because of the manager.
Class is permanent firm is temporary.
 
Clearly Harry Kane fits with Bayern's style of play but he doesn't with the way England have played under Southgate. Kane is best in the opposition's box and we know he can score goals but too often England were so deep with everyone behind the ball that it was impossible to play yhe ball out at all quickly. Kane is not going to outsprint and consequently he got the ball 40 yards out. At times he seemed to have no option but to cross it .... to himself. He was rarely where we needed him to be (not his fault) and he was never where Phil needed him to be. In addition I don't think he was fit and seemed to be carrying a knock.

Statistics.......The rest of his game was poop.Penalties and goals in the 18 yard box aside he is ineffectual. Both Vinny and the new England coach have a job really in getting the very best out of him.
 
Nowhere near fit. Whole squad were flogged to death over 7 games which is why he should have heavily rotated in the third group game, which everybody else did!

Great player Kane just awful luck and with the service at City he'd still bag 30 a season. Needs a rest, as does everybody else
