You assume we have made a bid for Maguire. There is an absence of evidence that we are in for a central defender. I think we are in for a fullback and a defensive midfielder, but not sure that we are in for a central defender.

The Maguire wage offer and transfer fee lacks credibility. It was copied by almost everyone, but what if it was wrong?

I hope it is wrong, Maguire is worth 50m at most IMO, and certainly not 280k a week as being reported.

I think we are interested, I have no idea if a bid has gone in yet, but given that people are saying that Leicester value him at a minimum of 80m, and we value him at 60m

Leicester doesn't "need" the money the way other clubs do, so they aren't in a rush to sell him, and like Mahrez last year who pushed for a move. We are going to have to meet there valuation

I dunno what constitutes evidence in your eyes , we won't have any proof that we are in for anyone until they land on our doorstep. But the fact that we have lost Kompany , Otamendi has been widely reported as wishing to move on and journalists who follow City and tend to be accurate have stated that we do want a centre back rather suggests that we are in for one, which is not to say that the fee and wages reported are in anyway accurate

Not believing we are in for Maguire is rather different to saying there is no evidence to suggest we are after a centre back.. But apart from that there have been previous suggestions that we are indeed after Maguire including Sam Lee who has been reporting this for a while. I am not suggesting that the particular report on wages and bid are accurate I seriously doubt a journalist will know the wages on offer but I strongly suspect we are interested in Maguire and would be frankly amazed if we were not interested in any centre back.

City may well have interest in all manner of players, but there's zero evidence that we have made any concrete offers for any central defenders in this window and that includes harry maguire.

It's obvious that LCFC aren't looking to sell him and that it would take a record fee to get him, and therefore if we had identified him as a player we wanted to buy, I think we would be well down that familiar road that we took with mahrez and most other Summer transfer sagas. In my opinion there's nothing happening with maguire regardless of what the Star or Mirror say. If you think their smoke suggests fire, then you're welcome to believe it.

But I know 100% for sure that nobody on here knows enough or has seen enough to say for certain one way or the other.

Happy to proved wrong on this but the fact we haven’t seen a lot of him at the age of 22 one reason why I don’t think he will make it here. I don’t think you are a prospect after 20/21.

If you aren’t playing at 22/23 then you should be looking at elsewhere. And from what I have seen I can’t see him breaking in this year. I dare say Garcia is ahead of him in the pecking order.
