Harry Maguire

I'd be very surprised to see us surpass £70m, whereas I can absolutely see United reaching £75/80m.

Really hope we look elsewhere. I can see why we're interested in Maguire as he does tick a lot of boxes, but surely the board will see that this deal has just exceeded value now. Just move on and sign someone else.

Still can't get my head around why we're not in for Alderweireld.

Totally agree. However, it was obvious the fee would be crazy and we know Leicester are tough negotiators as they're financially strong. Surely City expected this; I did.

Sure if they are world class or have that potential. No point paying such prices for players like Maguire, who are nothing special. Being rich doesn't mean you have to be stupid.

Not at all, I genuinely thought, or rather hoped, we could use it to help out, a bit like having rich parents.

You have been repeating yourself for at least 5 transfer windows, and the replies are the same - it's little wonder many suspect you as a WUM.

City have a budget and they have a price they want to pay, they will not exceed neither as the evidence of recent seasons has proved.

It'd be a bit if a giggle to match their £70 million. Just to oblige them to go up to £80 million. Posters over on Foxes Forum can't believe these figures incidentally. They think he's a good centre half, and that's it. The market is creating ridiculous values for players. It wouldn't actually surprise me if Maguire goes for north of £80 million. Simply because Leicester are holding all the cards. And United are absolutely desperate. And both parties know it.

Edit: Snap, FI.

His separation from his girlfriend, and mother to his daughter, is the main reason for his dip in form. He should recover from it - though I'm not sure how long City will give him.
Now is the the time for him to put in the hard graft and put in performances especially now with no Kompany he has a chance to be No.1 centre back at the club for years to come.

Stones and Otamendi as second and third choice honestly makes me a little nervous. If we're not going to pay the money for Maguire, which is fine, whatever, I hope we move on quickly and go to another option.

Yes he had two injuries, but I think his head has been in the wrong place for a while and is the main reason he wasn't playing for City in the run in.

The whole combination will effect him, and probably be related. A fit John stones would put us in a strong position, you look at the whole team from last year, add stones, Mendy and KDB to the rotation and bloody hell its a big difference. To the point of questioning the need for signings given the cover we would have

I think the reason was we needed vinnies experience and leadership to get us through the most stressful part of the season more than anything john did or didn't do,vinny is going to be a massive loss,no-one will drive us on like he did

Nope to just paying what clubs want,we put a value on them and negotiate if we can't find a deal we walk away, business 101

Well things will have to change otherwise we'll miss out on everybody. Other bigs clubs will just think out bid City they won't budge 1 day we're going to have to budge and you'd be silly to think otherwise.
