No surprise you are Irish!!

Given has made countless of performances like that, which seem to have slipped the mind of ever English fans on this board, full of English supporters, but I'm the one who's bias.

Some people really are ridiculous.
Us getting 5th last year had a lot to do with Given,he has done nothing wrong now he can fuck off? Hart said he'd leave if he didn't get to start, but that doesn't matter, he's young he's English, but no, Given can just fuck off. It's not like oh I don't know, he's done much for us anyway.

Given is too good, too experienced and at the stage of his career where he needs games, and people are selfish enough to think that he should waste his time sitting on the bench when clubs like Arsenal are interested in him.

Hart has had one good season, didn't make the bench in the world cup, behind two average keepers, and puts in a performance that any other keeper would have in the Prem today, Given included, and he's the new mesiah, well I guess the English press and Capello have got their way after all.
It was suggested that Hart's nationality would play a part in the selection, he's not better than Given, he's less experienced, the only thing he has on his side is he's younger and he's English and in this day in age apparently that enough. Given..who needs Given right.

For Ireland, from that point of view, I hope he does leave, from a City point of view, we'll need him when Hart cracks, but that's too selfish a reason to ask him to stay.

Ye question people's loyalties on here, question ye're own first.

Ha, what did i tell you to expect macca?

Y'see, this is what I don't understand. Given is no doubt a top top draw goalkeeper. But so is Joe Hart. And Hart's at the beginning of his career whereas Given's at the end of his. It's a no brainer for any manager, never mind Mancini. There's no bias involved. Just common sense. Hart was always going to be number 1.

Given will stay at City though. He's a clever guy and I'm sure he realizes that he should give it a season and see how things go.

Bobby has made a top call, shay is a great keeper but would he have stopped all those today. Without doubt no

Forward with Joe, he will save us 20 points this season

Joe is number 1 for me. But there is no way to know if Shay would not have made the same saves.

It's a fact that when any Irish player is sold or dropped by City, all you hear is rants by Irish fans that it is a disgrace!!

So don't go calling anyone else numpty!!

I slightly disagree, inasmuch as if there's a chance of going to Arsenal, Shay will push hard for that (and very understandably-I'd do the same, in his shoes).

I'd go so far as to say he's actually shown more class than Joe has over this problem.

But the nub of the matter, as you quite rightly state, is that we have two keepers of essentially equal ability, one of whom is 10 years younger than the other. It's an easy decision (harsh, yes, no question-but ultimately easy).

Any sensible manager would do what Mancini has done.

I really hate how player put their countries before their clubs. Total bull. Honestly where the hell does he think the republic of ireland is going to get to anyways? Sorry Irish posters :/ I just think Given is being FAR too selfish.

what i said to macca, was he can expect to be called irish bias for what he says about given, and macca will tell you that himself.

you my friend, publicly called yourself a numpty when no one had said a thing about you personally.

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't really thinking about Arsenal when I said that. However, I don't think there's any chance whatsoever of City giving Arsenal such a key player. I could understand Shay's disappointment, but City have to do what's best for City and not what's best for a particular player. They've shown already they have no problem with that...
