Can't be arsed reading the thread, but I assume Given's fan club of Rahart and IrishMacca are in here banging the same old worn-out drum.
Well. I hope your prepared for a surprise...Dubai Blue said:Can't be arsed reading the thread, but I assume Given's fan club of Rahart and IrishMacca are in here banging the same old worn-out drum.

You disagree with what we say so you try and discredit it because oh we're Irish, they're only saying it because Hart's the no. 1.
I couldn't give a shit where Hart's from, he made an absolutely awful mistake today, and (now here's where the nationality part does come in) he's getting away with blind murder on here. If it was Given there'd be pages and pages of abuse.
But it wouldn't have been Given as, unlike, nearly every keeper I can think of, he is not error prone. He has made one howler in his career that I can think of, and nothing since.
But lets not stop logic from backing up what we saw, lets just discredit it because they're Irish.
And last time I looked, Given was a Blue as well, just incase people forgot that.
There is a reason why Given doesn't make a mistake and that's because he never, ever comes for crosses or leaves his goal line. I wonder how many goals have been conceded by his teams because he hasn't come for a cross?
Give me a keeper like Joe any day. Yes he is young and cocky but he also has a confidence that is impossible to teach. The fact he has made mistakes this season, probably 3 (Blackburn, Leicester and Bolton) but the fact he keeps on coming for crosses and trying to control his area shows a great strength of character. His error today was poor but he wouldn't be the first goalkeeper to be done by a delivery like that. I wasn't too arsed about the first part though, it was his lack of bravery in the second part that I didn't like.
We can argue until the cows come home. IMO Joe is a better goalkeeper for us and is rightly No.1. Leighton has an agenda like he always does for all things green. I don't blame him for it but he does and that's that.

Rahart said:Not at all, for 12 years he's been glued to the line. Fuck sake, you mightn't want to see it but he comes off the line many times, and doesn't when he knows he wont win the wall.
He has a football brain and knows how to read it, Hart doesn't.
He will come for the crosses he can win, Hart just throws himself hoping, Given wont risk it when there are players who are in a better position to win the ball.
Hart is trying to control the box? Trying being the word, because he isn't doing a great job of it at times.
There's a time where he needs to see what he can and can't do. If he can't do it by now, he wont be able to do it at all. Not really. You need these fundamental basics down at a certain age or it doesn't really work.
Given knows that he wont make a cross that a taller keeper might, but he doesn't let that impact on his game, despite what some CITY fans (of all people) try to say.
Hart doesn't see his limitations, which you may saw his confidence, but it's arrogance, which is fine when you're a kid, but not at 23/24.
And he is arrogant and cocky and it impacts on his game. He is over confident, and you're right, you can't teach confidence but you can build it, what you cannot teach is an understanding of the game, and a football brain, and Hart sadly doesn't have it, and the longer he stays in the game, the more clear that will become.
Hart is a good keeper, but IMO I can't see for the life of me, why he's ahead of Given, the only thing that he has on his side is age, and if he wasn't "the future" and the same age as Given, Hart wont not be starting.
History suggests you're wrong.Rahart said:ono said:That doesn't really work though. It probably just so happens that around 90% of the posters on here understand that keepers make genuine errors from time to time.
If our opinion is discredited, because we happen to be Irish, then there is no reason why the English lads bias doesn't come into it.
There can't be one rule and reason for us another for you lot, just because there's more of you than us.

Hart made a howler, he'll pick himself up and get on with it. End of.
Conceded plenty of headers because Shay wouldn't come off his line and punch or catch, so there we go.
