Hart was at fault with the wall for the 2nd goal!

as a fellow goalkeeper albeit a much lesser level I recognise that.

But...... I wouldnt swap him for any other goalie in the league!

So Gary Neville and Shearer who played at the highest level and are adamant that Joe got his wall spot on are wrong then?

It's a good job we have bluemoon so a few blokes that play football down the park can tell one of the world's best goalkeepers what he's doing wrong.

Don't forget to write to Gary Neville etc and point out the error of their ways ;)

Interesting you mention ex footballers that played between the sticks giving their opinion...... oh wait!!

I actually listened to Peter Schemichel give his opinion on the subject yesterday and guess what his opinion was?

You guessed it the worlds best goalie of his time and 1 of the best of all time had the exact same opinion as me so go swivel before you bring professional footballers into the argument!

-- Tue Aug 28, 2012 12:15 pm --

I'm pretty confident Joe would hold his hands up and say he should have moved the wall further left on hindsight as well such is the nature of goalkeeprs and how they brutally assess every goal as to how they could have done better with it!

even sunday league goalkeepers have that trait ;-)

Well I would assume that defenders and goalkeepers work on such things together in training. I would be surprised if Neville had not been involved in training sessions regarding the formation of walls before. Perhaps even with Mr Schmeichel himself? Where did Schmeichel say this by the way, I would actually be quite interested to hear.

Maybe you're right and goalies keep the secrets to wall formation to themselves and don't ever bother practising/discussing such things with other players in training. Maybe that's where it went wrong? ;)

Sick of all the anti Dzeko and Balotelli threads so for balance I started an anti Hart thread.

people insults the strikers but at the end of the strikers do their work. goals are scored. 2 or 3 almost every game.

Unfortunately the same can not be said of the goalkeeping. the work is not done.

Hart must be the most unfortunate goalkeeper of all time.

because frankly I can not remember when was the last time he made a significative save.

in the meantime , starting from Sunderland at home , we have conceded at least a dozen goals.

in all this games Hart touched almost never a ball.

you was right mate , as usual

I agree with you mate on the Joe Hart thing,I always have done and said it in the past. He's so overrated by our fans and was awful again today.I wouldn't change him because I think he's nowhere near his best yet and improving very very slowly .Saying that he definitely needs someone challenging him and to stop trying to fuckin punch it out.

He made a significant save at the end.

as good a strike as gerrards was, I personally thought hart could have done better with that.

He did but he really needs to look at his positioning and reaction time for long range efforts - especially at his left post.

This is how I feel about Sturridge's goal but Gerrard's was 1 of those where you hold your hands up and say "world class strike".
