Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

Heard conflicting arguments so can anyone put me right. Some say its best to keep your heating on rather than it being on and off all the time. As that it uses more energy to heat up rather than just run at a modest temp.

The boiler I have doesn't constantly run as such. It kicks in when it drops below 20c until it above. That's normal though I guess.
20c? Soft bastard, it's supposed to be cheaper to keep the house at a constant temperature, I just bang a few more logs on the fire.

You have an open fire Andy? I did not know that.

Its not that is and will always be bollocks. Maybe for new boilers as they are so efficient they only kill 1 polar bear a year compared to my old bastard that slaughters families of polar bears violently every time you turn it on but I will still not understand how burning gas constantly over for 4 months is better than turning it on when needed

New boilers or even fairly new ones don't constantly burn gas though. They kick in when required.

So do old boilers but whats the point of your boiler turning on 3 times a day when you are not there

Oh right. I bow to your old boiler knowledge. But to answer your question, I don't know. Hence why I asked in the first place.
