remember they may have to close some seat of when they expanding as well. They have already said that they are looking into it and their where some plan on a thread on Blue Moon also. I think it will start in the summer next year for saw.

The next phase is the academy 170m worth can't see any stadium expansion until that is out of the way IMO it will be the last job on the to do list.

United, Arsenal, and Chelsea don't fill their stadiums for many cup games, you can't go by that reasoning in an economy like this, cup games are not high priority for everyone. And the CL games were near enough, the FA Cup derby sold out, only the Carling Cup had MANY empty seats. If we wait until we fill our stadium for every cup game, I fear we'll never expand our stadium.
Barcelona got 56,480 at the 99,000 seat Camp Nou for one of their Copa del Rey cup games (that is nearly the ENTIRE capacity of our stadium in empty seats) and Real Madrid got 52,000 at the 85,000 seat Santiago Bernabeu in the same round.
Think people are too worried about what the rags would think of some empty seats... the same rags who had close to 20,000 empty seats against Bilbao in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Don't they go hand in hand? Expansion means more room for corporate boxes.

Okay, just go with me on this:
couldn't we buy a few of the latest in dirigibles and on the days we think demand is going to far outstrip supply, sell seats in them and get them tethered just above the pitch, say one at each corner? I reckon we ought to be able to get another 1,000 "in" that way.
