Has the BBC become a Tory tool?

Only just joined this thread so no intention of going back reading every post so may have been mentioned already. Can someone explain how it is perfectly OK for Sugar to photoshop a picture of Adolf Hitler next to Jeremy Corbin just prior to a General Election but Gary Linekars post isn't. Surely this shows how biased & unimportant the BBC is. Sugars post is 10 times worse. I am not a fan of Corbyn by the way. He did severe damage to Labour's election chances by turning a lot of traditional Labour voters off Labour & was a big factor in the Tories getting elected. I am glad he is out of the party now.
Basically you've articulated the counter arguement, right wing bias at the bbc

Well, I have changed my opinion on whether Lineker was allowed to tweet what he did , based on the simple fact it is now apparent that many other presenters tweet political messages and have not been dealt with in the same manner. So based on what others have said on social media he should have been treated no differently.

I still don't think he was right to use a 1930s analogy with rhetoric from the nazi party. And I still find him incredibly smug and don't enjoy his , Shearers or Murphys one sided punditry on MOTD.

As an aside i dont think the BBC will exist in its current form in a few years time. Simple because young people don't watch it.

He didn’t need to bring 1930s Germany into it. The Nazis did the most evil things known & if he can’t get his point over better then thats why he’s been pulled. In my opinion he’s right to call out dehumanisation of migrants but ffs Nazis really.
Would it have been ok if he had said it was similar to some of the language used during the early 1900s in Rwanda during the occupation by Germany, where they split the population by who they deemed to be the more superior race? Then the propaganda used by the organisers of the genocide to slowly brainwash the Hutu into believing that the Tutsi were foreign and did not belong there.

No, but the only chambers she was a member of was No5 iirc, and he never has been, and they practised in completely different area of law, so there’s absolutely no reason their paths would ever cross professionally. Unless it was before she was called to the bar, in which case she had no legal standing at that point, which again makes her claim to be both weird and misleading.

I don’t even see how riding on his coat tails would assist her professionally. His best selling book is about sexual entertainment venues. He’s also a far better lawyer than she’ll ever be.
So am I and I'm not even a proper doctor.

Well, I have changed my opinion
It'll never catch on ;-)

I think this is where we really need to be focusing our energy and discussion in relation to the BBC instead of all this manufactured culture war bollocks, i.e what does it mean to be a 'national broadcaster' in the changed media landscape - if/how best should it meet it's charter goals going forward?

To do this we need the right type of culture secretary and the right type of senior management at the BBC, ignoring any political allegiances I don't think the current incumbents have the backgrounds for this. In fairness, we're hardly the only country struggling to keep our governance structures up to speed with technological advances, I am reminded of Zuckerberg running rings round most of the house finance committee until Ocasio-Cortez started asking questions at which point he looked like he wanted to stab her for having the temerity to understand aspects of his world/business model.

Nor is overstating the difficulty. We assess thousands of cases. Most of them are granted. Provide the resources to deal with the numbers. Open processing centres in France. Establish safe passage. Apply common sense and some humanity rather than bigoted political dogma. Basic stuff.
Not rocket science is it.
