Have the nerves kicked in yet?

Sorry for dampening the mood, normally I’m a nervous old bstard before any derby game however this time it’s different, after the Madrid game I got a phone call to say my sons girlfriend had taken a seizure, she was taken to hospital the same night, the scan reaveales she had a small tumour on the brain and it’s malignant, they are hoping she will be operated on in the next couple of weeks, since the Madrid game I can’t get excited about football, I’ve been watching City since 1963 and this is the best time to be a Blue.
puts things into perspective

hope she recovers blue

Fucking hell mate I’m sorry to hear that. Hope all goes well as it can do

We’re going to smash them all over the park and then a little bit more. 4 or 5 goals tomorrow (for us). It’s going to happen. We’re a machine at the moment. Never felt so confident……… or is it the beer……
Lets do this blues.
Depends if you mean ‘at the moment’ or ‘at the moment when the first team plays’ but I’m inclined to agree

Sorry to hear that Ray. At the end of the day, it really is just 22 guys kicking a ball around a pitch. We crack on that it's more but let's be honest, it really isn't. You have to put things into perspective. My prayers go out to the lady, her family and your lad.

I feel for you mate, hope everything turns out for you

One of my tactics - record it, go out for a walk without phone, get back, pluck up the courage to find out the score- if we win I watch it if not I delete it and sit in a pile of depression until the next game
I thought I got stressed ? I think you need watch it, warts and all

Arrived In London. Hendon area to be precise.
Quite nervous. Mixture of ‘this should be a battering’ to ‘they’ll sneak a 1-0’

Tomorrow:
Saunter westwards for breakfast, sunbathe for a few hours, pub for very early lunch, then final walk to top end of Wembley way to get onto the west side… I’m wondering whether should walk north of Wembley Park tube (forty lane/forty avenue) to avoid the rabble dissmbarking at tube?

Hello all, long time lurker on here and only registered recently. In my 40’s and grew up routinely getting my nose rubbed in it by rags in the 90’s.

Some nerves cos it’s a one off derby, but if we have half that mentality we had against Madrid at home we will smash them. I watched that game again last night and can’t get over how good we were. As close to perfect as we could be.

Can’t go tomorrow unfortunately as I’ve spent all my brownie points with the missus on Istanbul, so I invited the in-laws (rags) around to the house to watch it. They won’t come because they’re shitting it miles more than us!

Hopefully that debacle of a goal at theirs this season and the chance to make history will mean the boys treat it every bit as serious as they did against Madrid. If they do we hammer them. What a time to be a blue. CTID.

I’ve just watched that speech ten rag gave on the pitch. Pathetic small time bollocks, reminded me of a pissed up Delia Smith.

I’m listening to the rational side of my brain. We should walk it tomorrow.
Exactly what I thought. I thought Ten Hag was okay. Shown him up coming out with shit like that, I’d be playing that on loop in our dressing room tomorrow.

I think we’re going to pump them. The only thing I am nervous about is when we humiliate them they start kicking us and out lads get injured for the Champions League final. Ref’s got to get a grip.

Not nerves as such, but I can't settle.

Had a bottle of malbec tonight, so it's helped.

Tomorrow, I'm not lucky enough to be going, so will be out to the pub early doors to have a few pre-match settlers.

My missus doesn't understand it all - so she can go f*ck herself and the pub I'll be watching it in, in rural East Anglia will probably be shite, full of rags who've never been to a match and I cna't help but be loud when watching a derby.

Hate them beyond belief and I fully understand those who are prioritising the chumps league in their logic, but for me, beating that lot will always be sweeter than anything else - especially if it is part two of the pursuit (daren't type the word meaning three as I'm too superstitious!!)

Will be devastated if we lose on Saturday

Just enjoy the day. My lad knows nothing but cup finals, league titles etc. very different for me growing up so now I just take it all in my stride. I keep trying to get through to him how big cup final Saturday used to be. Shame the younger generation have had their heads turned by the global footballing machine and view the cup as a bit meh. Hopefully a final against the rags will reinvigorate the whole competition.
As long as we win of course
