Have you all turned on Hughes?

Blue Peter, re Spurs:

Yep, they replace him with Ramos, who won a TROPHY in his first year in charge!

They replaced him with Redknapp, who also, IN HIS FIRST YEAR IN CHARGE, got to the final of a Cup at Wembley...and might very well qualify for Europe this season as well.

All in ONE season!

As a player league, domestic and european cups.

Finished in the top ten in his 3 seasons at Blackburn, better than both MON and Moyes, also took them to 3 semis. Oh I forgot we are a much more successful club than them!

Souness got Blackburn to the top 10 3 times also. He actually won something with them too. Now, I'm sure we'd all agree Souness is a shite manager & we wouldn't want him at City, so why is it different with Hughes?

Personally I don't think Souness is a shite manager, just maybe short of the very best, like Redknapp, Moyes and MON. Also he had a lot more resources than Hughes.

The fact is we haven't a clue at what is going on behind the scenes, and can only comment on what we see on the pitch. Now I am not going to try and defend the perfromances over the last week because they have been poor. However, I believe he can and will turn things round next season.

he will be gone if we don't win the uefa cup. the fans won't let him still be here.
cheerio hughes
The fans don't own the club thank god.

I remember the fans getting plenty of managers sacked and nothing improved.
Can you name just ONE manager that was sacked by the City fans?

Just ONE?

Argue your point but don't talk through your arse...okay?
Where do you want me to start? Allison, Bond, Frizzell, Clarke, Ball.

David Moyes and Martin O'Neil would all have been forced out at our place. It's shocking what we've become.

Bollocks they would have been. Moyes saved Everton from relegation after taking over, and took them to 5th in his first full year. Had plenty of runs on the board when he had his one bad season at Everton. O'Neill has improved Villa every year he's been there.

It's just fantasy to suggest that either would be forced out if they performed the same, and if Hughes showed half of what either did in their first season (with a fraction of the resources Hughes has had) there would be no suggestion of him being forced out either.

I wish I had your confidence - personally I am beginning to think that Linda Lusardi would do a better job than Hughes.

We're like that friendly guy we used to know before he won the lottery and completely changed.

It says it all that people are saying we could win on Thursday and they'd still want him out. We'd be on the verge of winning something, we'd be in our first semi final of my life time.

The man just can't win.

I couldn't agree more. The green eyed monster of GREED is what kills most football clubs.

What rubbish!! He has been a winner his whole career unlike our team. You may think he is not the man to manage us, but to say he isn't a winner is just plain stupid.

A winner as a player maybe. But what has he won as a manager?

Apart from Ferguson, what British manager managing has won anything until Redknapp last year.

That's hardly a convincing argument to keep him is it?

Personally I couldn't care less if I convince anyone. I believe in him. My point is that there aren't many managers who have won anything.

Obviously we could go abroad, but Ramos was successful in Spain and fell flat on his face over here. Football management isn't an exact science.

And I believe Hughes will improve City every season he's here.

Moyes has had awful starts to seasons and still kept his job in the past and they finished 4th from bottom just one year and qualifying for Europe. At our place he would have been executed for that.

pretty clear that we need to look abroad then

Spuds have done that on a few occasions and I bet have spent close to 250 million in the last 3 years with limited success. Strangely enough the best one they had was Jol and they sacked him.

But Jol IMPROVED the Spuds team - I don't see any improvement. In fact we were better at the beginning of the season, slightly.

We where rubbish a the start of the season and have improved greatly since then. If we hadn't we would be in th bottom 3, so please don't be ridiculous.

Just goes to show that when you win a cup its more down to luck. The difference is in the UEFA Cup we have probably played more games in this one season than they played in 2 seasons in the Carling Cup.
