Have you all turned on Hughes?

He lost my vote in january

this.

I am all for getting a manager in, and keeping him for years and years. Because I think that is the guarentee for sucess. and along with the money we have it is inevitable. When Hughes was brought in I thought it was a great appointment, and that he can win us everything.

but he is clueless. not a clue tactically, and for some reason I don't think he knows much about his players at all. wright phillips is a proven right winger so he moves him into the middle. well played. elano and robinho (brazil internationals) sit on the bench so kelvin etuhu can work his magic. we play 2 holding mids in de jong and zab at home. and when they had the ball in the centre of the park they had no clue what to do with it. Hughes had gave his attacking players their positions and didn't we know it. they didn't move they didnt want the ball, all we seem to do is pass it to someone then watch him. and then the passer fucks off.

the shambles might not be totally Hughes fault, I think a lot of the blame will lye with the defensive coaching staff. Obviousely don't know what they're doing, considering we can't defend corners and only seem to rely on given.

Get a new manager in Summer, a real proven winner and then stick behind him, whoever it may be.

Hughes is NOT a winner.

A well balanced post. I agree fully. hughes out.

if the players throw the towel in no manager and i mean no manager can make them play.
you will come back with fergie would get them going but that just cements the fact that they are selling their club, their proffession and their fans short.just to prove a point to manager that wants them to actually earn their money.
yes we need a change of manager that goes without saying cos we can't just sell 15 players but i wish we could.
what about the next guy, if he wants some bite off them and they decide not to, i know sack that manager too.

I detest player power but the fact remains it exists, it doesn't happen overnight but if the manager simply alienates himself and he himself has said he doesn't like to get too close to players then the inevitable happens. Its called man management and its something Hughes doesn't have in, my wife said this morning he has the personality of a dry biscuit.

It depends on how good a manager you are Bill. If you're really good you will be able to motivate your team and deal with the so called troublemakers.... if you're out of your depth... look at Hughes and City!

I hope the next manager is tough enough, cos Hughes wasn't.

we have'nt the squad to punish lightweights, hughes will know as we do that micah has had a terrible season but with viiny out we need zab in there, do we put ned there and weaken our defence?
the manager can't win.
most clubs at our level would love elano, why is he not picked? can only be a disipline thing.
yes they have to change manager and i for one hopes he kicks this fucking shower up the fucking arse.

oh and any player reading this if you dont want the shirt fuck off.

Lost faith, but not going to barrack him, and turn on the team, or walk out on them as half the crowd did yesterday

And that's not to say he's a bad manager. I still maintain he's done a good job at Wales, and Blackburn. But managing Manchester City is now one of the most difficult jobs in football.

It wont be easy to attract a proven manager who is better than Hughes, and success is not going to come overnight.

Keep the faith mate.
The squad will be a lot stronger after pre season & we will be able to bring in equally as good players with fire in their bellys next season when we need to rest or have injured players.

i'm sure i heard that same argument in december about getting payers in in january that would play for hughes.

any confidence i had left about the guy has gone, its time to change, but this time take some care, get a big name manager with european experience and able to attract and motivate the players coming in and get a grip of some of these lazy fuckers we've got so many of.

sorry Marvin but have to disagree...we are a great club with great fans and a limitless budget we are also in the prem...

we could easily attract proven managers...our owners didnt pick hughes they inherited him and gave him his chance...he hasnt taken it and Im sure they will want their own choice.

I posted this in another thread but I think it fits well in here as it's been my opinion of Hughes since pretty early on...

I think there's a few problems with Hughes, however in my opinion the main one is that he seems to have one style of management (I suspect that this is a fairly disciplinarian style). Now this approach can get results with some members of your team (and I'm talking about any profession now), but what a good manager has to realise is that every single member of his team requires a different approach in order to get the very best out of them. The 'on size fits all' style simply does not work.

As a player (and he was a great player), I reckon MH responded to the firm handed approach that Ferguson is well known for. What MH doesn't seem to have realised is that Ferguson (as much as I hate to say it) is also a master at the arm around the shoulders approach (Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo, etc). It's a very difficult skill t learn & I don't know whether MH has got it in him to change his style.

You cannot do it in one window mate.
Kompany,Given & Bellers along with the animal was a good start but the facts are Jan is a hard time to buy quality players.
You surely to god have to see this.

i agree with that but NONE of those players are playing for him, they look like headless chickens. ireland and swp are playing for us the fans the rest are totally dispondant. they are all quality players but they need a quality manager to lead them
