Have you ever bet against City in a big match?

Not because I think we’ll lose but I need some silver lining if the worst happens. I hate it when we lose or even draw.

At this time of year when it comes to big games it’s not like it doesn’t matter. It’s highly likely we’d be out of a cup or something so our loses are far more worse as we always have to win to reach our goals.

Im a child of the 80s/90s so I will never fully adjust to us being the best.
Even at 2-0 in the 90th I still think we might draw.
The Leeds and Leicester games recently, I was crapping my pants the last 10 min. Younger fans wouldn’t have even bat an eye lid. They’d be like, oh it’s only 1 goal relax, be full time in a minute. I was a wreck ha.

In fact I put £5 on us to be trophyless at 100/1 last week.

I have a small betting budget each week and I’m more than happy to lose it all on the understanding we win.



(I understand betting on us would be the best of both worlds before some normal person pipes up).

I am very similar when it comes to City and betting.

I bet 10% of my pot each week. Truth be told I have been betting with bookies money since I started with a £30 deposit 6 seasons ago. I only bet on football and even then only results. Some weeks I don't bet at all. Normally I pick 5 or 6 teams a weekend and then do a combination of multiples with a large stake. As the seasons wore on my pot gradually built up to a few hundred quid, at its highest £1350 a couple of seasons ago when I withdrew £1000 and put it in our annual holiday fund.

I have won big on City especially the final against Chelsea when I put all my profit that season on them to lift the trophy that awful day as a comfort bet. I also won quite a bit with Brentford home this season.

My City trophy less bet of £50 is for Utd, Arsenal and Real to win the respective trophies and was made before we played Arsenal at home the other week. I got roughly 75/1. Since then the odds have really gone out and the same bet is roughly 185/1.

I will wait until tomorrow to see the odds for Wednesdays game. But like you I am happier when I lose when betting against City!!!
