Fundamental flaw with this, budihsts don't believe in a god let alone tons of em, other than that quite funny

It's ok having a swipe at Atheism. Just as long as ( A.) Those who are more vociferous in their disdain realise there is a huge problem with Christian extremism that needs to be tackled and unfortunately there is likely to be some collateral damage along the way but it is for the greater good of mankind ultimately AND ( B.) The argument against any form of Atheism is fine as long as the arguments are based on facts, they follow the prescribed doctrine and ethos of the religion and any factual historical points like Easter being originally pagan is not brushed under the carpet and fended of with rhetorical bluster regarding some sort of perceived offense!

I've really enjoyed my Easter weekend. Watched loads of films and relaxed. I didn't forget the true meaning though: Jesus died on a cross for all of us so that he could Shaun of the Dead himself into a zombie just so we could all eat chocolate before we get to heaven (which is a giant galaxy easter egg in a cloud). It's why I waited til 00:16 on Saturday to eat meat. It's all worth it.

We know that God exists because of the Bible.

We know that the Bible is true because God says so.

Am I doing theology wrong?

I fucking barely rose up today, got drinking with a load of swedish burnley lads.
I had already done every cocktail on the menu and they started chucking the jaeger shots around like confetti.
Not been that smashed in a long time, can't remember half of it.

You're going to have the mother of all come downs.

To complain about taking the mick out of Christianity at Easter is utterly ridiculous. Its the most appropriate day of the year to do so. Even the most ardent Christians accept that entire faith collapses without the resurrection. If ever there is an appropriate time to highlight how insanely stupid the whole things is, it is as Easter.

If you want to ask people to be more respectful, I can't think of a worse time than on the day they celebrate the cosmic zombie rising from the dead. I seriously can't imagine anyone asking for respect for Scientologists of June 6th (the anniversary of the maiden voyage of the freewinds!).

Because there's no reason to be a dick to people on a day that they consider holy because you're so chuffed that you've figured out all of the answers to the philosophical questions that mankind has had for the past million years.

Easter is about a man being mercilessly tortured by being nailed to a piece of wood and stabbed in the gut several times, bleeding to death over the period of several days. His religion believes that he did this so that you don't have to and those rose from the dead as a sign of his divinity.

This thread as a whole shows a disgusting lack of respect. You have about 360 a days a year give or take to get your digs into religion, you bunch of dickheads can't even give the faithful a single day without feeling the need to voice your useless views. Not even one day.

Easter is a pagan festival which the Christians supplanted.

I do not believe you actually believe what you wrote.

You're too smart to believe the content of that post.

I am also surprised, with Damocles scientific knowledge, based on provable theories, that he failed to point out that Christianity even at the most basic level lacks proof, No one has actually proven if Jesus actually existed let alone proving all the myths surrounding him.

Because it's not about right and wrong, it's about respect for other people who wish to talk with people who share their views about one of the holiest days in their relgion. As I've said, I've often gone to town on the inaccuracies and contradictions in religions and will do so for 360 days a year. I just don't think it's right to do so on their sacred days. There's the difference between having a viewpoint and just being a twat to people needlessly.

Just a small point but the Historical Jesus is pretty well supported actually.
