Easter is about a man being mercilessly tortured by being nailed to a piece of wood and stabbed in the gut several times, bleeding to death over the period of several days. His religion believes that he did this so that you don't have to and those rose from the dead as a sign of his divinity.

This thread as a whole shows a disgusting lack of respect. You have about 360 a days a year give or take to get your digs into religion, you bunch of dickheads can't even give the faithful a single day without feeling the need to voice your useless views. Not even one day.

Easter is a pagan festival which the Christians supplanted.

I do not believe you actually believe what you wrote.

You're too smart to believe the content of that post.

I am also surprised, with Damocles scientific knowledge, based on provable theories, that he failed to point out that Christianity even at the most basic level lacks proof, No one has actually proven if Jesus actually existed let alone proving all the myths surrounding him.

I would suggest that he knows all about what you are stating. That you and others have not seen his point and continue to lambast everyone with tedious and ever more 'facts' about religion to reinforce an atheistic viewpoint is something that does indeed happen every Easter. I am in no way religious, but fuck me, there is absolutely no need to scream and ridicule what is an important day to Christians, it will not result in more folk seeing the light as it were, their faith is theirs, ridicule it by all means, but let them have a couple of days a year to remember.
It's like whenever it's St George's day, Patricks day, etc; there is always some sour faced fucker wanting to tell everybody how shit and irrational we are for celebrating; unnecessary and sniping for the sake of it.

I don't believe but am jealous of people that do I knew a lady that was a firm believer, a catholic, and every major event in her life whether tragic or joyous she shared with her God. She was comforted by her faith in the bad times and she knew without a shadow of doubt that one day she would go to heaven. She always seemed very calm and didn't worry about much. I'm quite envious of that

Ah the joys of being brainwashed. But that's what religion is all about.

You're jealous of that? Why not "find God" so you too can benefit from this comfort?

Actually I have lambasted nobody I haven't stated that people have to follow my beliefs and if they are happy to make a leap of faith that is up to them.

The one thing I would say is religious people do speak as if God, Jesus and the stories of the Bible are a statement of fact not just a belief. That is what I question not their right to believe.
