He may be mad but he's one of us

I hope he plays today .

Thought experiment for you De Niro,

Imagine, he had done what he did, against Utd at Wembley in the semi final. And we had to play 50 minutes against them, and it affected the result.

Hypothetical yes, but I genuinely think people slightly concerned that something like this has a greater potential to happen with him particularly, is fair

-- Sun Mar 20, 2011 12:34 pm --

He's a dick, but he's no more of a dick than a lot of other premier league players. It's just that they aren't Black, Italian, and playing for Manchester City FC.

Are you implying that fans on here who have been critical of him are racist? Otherwise, I really don't see your point. Because ultimately, we as city fans are discussing him on here. I don't see why people are bothered what other fans or journalists think or write about him?

i lost a lot of respect for tevez with the transfer request and i am glad bellamy is it cardiff and not here anyway.

That's fair enough re: your latter point. I was just noting that I have been consistent on this. I'm in no way, singling out Balotelli on the points made. He has singled himself out. But I do take your point completely on board re: Tevez and the transfer request, although, I still dont think we know the full story about that yet, and I suspect we won't until he leaves in summer

i dont think we ever will find out the real reason for the transfer request.

and balo is a prime target for newspapers ect because he has been sent off ect and also the papers making up bullshit about he wants to go home without any quotes!
i dont think we will see the best of him till next season same for dzeko!

Just checked this on wiki..very interesting.. mmmmm.

Duncan Ferguson, Patrick Viera, and Richard Dunne have the most red cards in the history of the Premier League, with 8 each. They are followed by Vinnie Jones, Roy Keane & Alan Smith on 7.

Didnt see many calls for Dunny to be got rid of in his time here..
Didnt see Arsenal fans calling for Viera to be got rid of as of any of the others either..City fans eh.. lay off Balo ur making us look stupid.

If the c-unt gets another chance today I hope he shows us what he can do and plays out of his skin (it could hapen) Then we go on and win some silverware. Then we will forgive him.

Micah (a revelation), take him to one side and show him how it's done ON the field.....

I admire your attempt but the situations are totally different so your comparison does not work.

Don't sell balotelli...there's a difference between stupid and doing stupid things. he's defo not stupid. not an easy adjustment, so give him time. he's one of the best players we have

Balotelli, a lifelong fan of Milan, said to Mediaset: "The likelihood is that I will be at City up to June.

"I have a five-year contract and I can't say anything."

Speculation intensified over Balotelli's future after the 20-year-old striker was spotted on Sunday night having supper with AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani in a restaurant in Milan.

"It's true that I had supper with (Adriano) Galliani after the (Milan) derby," Balotelli said.

"But had I eaten with (Inter president Massimo) Moratti the media would have said that I was going to Inter."

Balotelli did, however, state that he and AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic would form a dream partnership.

"Ibrahimovic and I would make a very strong (attacking) duo," he said.

We can debate all day about the context. But ultimately, he hasn't done himself any favours in relation to PR, by talking about AC Milan, Ibrahimovic, and being at City until June. Why say that, and then have to qualify it by saying you have a 5 year contract. Add to that, he's been seen with an AC Milan shirt when playing for Inter. These things do not warm the hearts of supporters. Additionally, they create a narrative, which basically suggests, I'm only bothered about Mario Balotelli, and I will only ever do what is right for Mario Balotelli. Fast forward to last week, and then he does a cowardly tackle which again, has no consideration for anyone else at Manchester City football club.

What we get on here by the self deceived, is 'oh, so what, he supports them, FFS! players dine with chairmen all the time, FFS'.

Okay

Disagree - I hnestly don't believe that he thinks that he is one of us. Mario needs to show he wants to be here and is learning from the mistakes he's making and I don't mean badge kissing and fake shows of loyalties.

Agree 100% - I will be behind him whilst he's wearing our shirt and would be delighted if he can come out of this showing even half of the potential he has.
