Heaviest home defeat you've witnessed either at Maine Rd or the Etihad

Yep, 4 down in no time, and in typical City fashion we were singing "can we play you every week".

Anelka scored a consolation near the end you'd have thought it was the winner.

And unlike today's fickle lot, we stayed to the end.
I don't remember us singing that It was strange seeing us clap them off. I think we were all in awe of such wonderful football, even though we were thrashed.

Today’s lot don’t even stay until the end when the game’s level in a title run-in game, never mind a 0-4 thrashing.

1970, West Ham beat us 5-1, the day Ronnie Boyce scored that goal from Corrigan's kick out. Think that was the low point of Joe's career.

Remember leeds beating us 5-2 in the fa cup in 2000. If I remember correctly we scored first or equalised, just remember going nuts when we scored.
*2-5

We took the lead twice: Goater was about three yards offside for the first and it was a Bishop rocket for the second.

Fantastic atmosphere in the first half that day, and proper tasty before and after the game. It was the first year I could get served in pubs as a 17 year old.

They were top of the Premiership (as it was called then) and we were top of Division One (as it was called then).

I think we scored, they equalised, we scored, they equalised again. All in about the first 15 minutes.

That was as good as it got though. I think they were top of the Premier League at the time and it showed after the mad start had calmed down.
