Hi Fi

In the size of room I have they are stunning. They need the stands though. I had them on bookshelfs for a year or two then bought the stands - like a totally different speaker. Like everything I suppose, it's about individual tastes. I did want to go with the 805 diamond but the PM1s done the job for me. My listening is mainly early 80s, Kraftwerk, JD, NO, Velvet Underground and a little of Radiohead...... oh, and Back in Black and a bit of Pink Floyd. I'm old.

The wife likes the look of them though..... that's half the battle.

Similar music tastes then, plus I'm also a bit old. The Wife isn't allowed in my room!

I've got a nad c320 amp from 2005 and some tannoy revolution dc6 speakers, I just play Spotify via WiFi through an audio chromecast for a source (got a nad cd player in the cupboard that has been retired). Going to upgrade soon but not sure how (one salesman at richer sounds said to buy a node 2i streamer, another said to get a Cambridge one or the quad vena amp to replace both nad amp and chromecast). Any advice welcome

All good advice. The Quad is the most convenient and the Cambridge is the best for sound quality so depends how happy you are with your NAD. I had the node (cheapest option - decent sound but quirky to live with) quickly moved it on for the Cambridge CXN. Even made the new Taylor Swift album sound exceptional :-)
The NAD was a giant killer in its day. Buying separates allows you to upgrade bit by bit (space allowing).

Have a scan at Raspberry Pi media servers (DIY and ultimately customisable). You can attach a DAC to the Pi and connect it directly to your NAD then stream audio via your home wifi. You can also connect a Network drive to your wifi so that you can you can play any audio files.

You can run the Pi headless, so you can use a phone or a tablet to control your system.

Don't discount the Arcam RPlay streamer either. I've got one and it sounds fantastic.

Just replaced a 15yr Onkyo system with some Sonus speakers. OK it's not strictly a Hifi but the sound quality and ease of use is truly amazing.
