Hobbies for the middle aged man

Not so much middle aged, I'm a little older than that, but I'm enjoying my retirement and riding my sportsbike around, having walks in the countryside.

Acceleration never gets boring, and neither do the songbirds in spring.

Middle age is shit. You're still working.

Life begins at 62. Well, it did for me when I stuck two fingers up to the corporate bullshit of the modern world and left it all behind.

I'm one of the missing millions. Suck it up Rishi, because there aint no way I'm going back to it, no matter how feeble your incentives are.

Well done mate, you are a long time dead. Good to see someone who saw it for what it was and got out while still mobile enough to enjoy it.

Keep yourself ticking over and enjoy the good life.

I spend hours doing the following things:

Cooking - trying out loads of different recipes and perfecting them over time.

Creating playlists in a music app - I’ve got dozens of playlists and hundreds of hours of songs.

I’ve also created a list of history, geography and science documentaries, series and films. It’s in chronological order and had taken me years (about a decade to be honest), it’s probably thousands of hours worth of watching which I’m about to embark on watching from scratch in order for the first time.

Exercising! As a nation we need to do this far more frequently than we do, everyone should be active. There are lots of good ways to keep fit but I find the most interesting are going out hiking and cycling.
Be good to see that list of docs

I need to find something new to do, usual pastimes have been sport but my body just cant take it anymore. I have started to get an interest in gardening but with the weather in the UK seems very hit an miss.

There's a guy on here ....blah blah blah

I'm going to bang the drum for Walking Football - there is a bit of a misconception about it (old duffers and zimmer frames etc) but its essentially five a side and surprisingly competitive - age varies but generally anything from over 50 and above

I have been playing just over a year now (62 this July) play 2-3 times per week and have dropped best part of 2 stone and have just come back from a tournament in Portugal (7 games over two days, a few beers and some sun - what's not to like)

great fun and gets you out of the house for a few hours
