We were just so much better when we replaced Gundogan with Bernardo. Bernardo has an urgency that I really don't think many of our other players have, it was incredibly obvious for Portugal in the Euro's when he was all over the place trying to drag them back into the game and it was the same for us today. The less said about Gundogan the better, same for LaPorte at LB.

The problem is that we have 3 high intensity options in attacking midfield- KDB, Bernardo, Foden.

And we have two slower, less physical options - Silva and Gundogan.

And when those two play together we seem slower, seem to lose the ball more, and are nowhere near as good.

I just think the solution is simple, only play one of those 2 at any one time, unless were 3 goals up and you want to kill the game.

We're just so much more robust in midfield with one of KDB, Bernardo and even Foden because they can cover the ground they will put in recovery tackles and it feels a lot less like Fernandinho is the only one defending.
