Hoffenheim away travel

I was looking at flights for my boss this morning (season ticket holder but never been on a European away and is tempted).

You can fly Manchester to Frankfurt for £23 with Ryanair on the morning of the game. FlixBus from Frankfurt to Heidelberg is less than £10.

Then you can fly from Dusseldorf the day after back to Manchester for £95 with FlyBe and a FlixBus would be about £13 but its a 4 hour journey. Train is pricier and longer.

Accommodation in Heidelberg is a little pricey so you may want to stay somewhere else, but I think the majority of City fans are staying there.

We are doing the same trip with a stay over in Frankfurt , you can buy a day ticket for db trains for 44 euro which gives you unlimited train journeys for 44 euro BUT the good thing is you can add upto 4 more people for 8 euro each so we got travel all day trains for 76 euro for 5 of us

I’m on this Frankfurt flight but getting train to Sinsheim for €19. It’s a little bit tight with time to go to Heidelberg and then onto Sinsheim so stopping the night in Sinsheim. Flying back from Stuttgart the following day.

I'm taking a train journey from St. Pancras on Tuesday morning all the way to Sensheim, (five trains) arriving 3pm local time. I will get trains back after the match and arrive back in London at 12:00 on Wednesday. Is anyone planning the same or similar?
