Holiday advice

Well we should have been basking in the sun in Majorca today but that plan was obviously scuppered somewhat. Managed to at least get a couple of nights in a hotel up near Bowness. My holiday advice for here is that it is an amazing place (as always) but book in advance if you want to do pretty much anything!

Just a heads up for anyone possibly eyeing up a little break to Europe soon...

It doesn't seem to be advertised but TUI are selling off a load of accommodation on the cheap.
I understand that these are hotels they had already committed to and the lack of demand means they are just trying to get rid and get something for them.

Last night myself and a mate booked 3 nights all inclusive in Zante across a weekend in October (9th to 12th) for £30pp, staying at this place;

https://www.tui.co.uk/destinations/...ivi/apartments/tui-suneo-tsilivi-admiral.html

Also booked 3 nights self catering with another friend across a weekend in late September at this place in Gran Canaria, it was also 30 quid each;

https://www.tui.co.uk/destinations/...-rico/apartments/revoli-playa-apartments.html

Flights are obviously extra and you run the risk of it not being booked as a package, but Zante is costing us £87pp all inclusive with the flights and Gran Canaria is 50 quid each with the flights so the financial risks are low should the worst happen.

Here is the link, so many bargains on there, works well if you have some dates in mind cos you can search anywhere if you're open to any destination

So you are getting a flight to zante for £57 return and one to Palma for £20?

I read somewhere the return quarentine for tha canary islands could end by weekend, some cheap ryanair prices for November, would it be worth risking?

Depends how risk averse you are, but I'd be gambling 100% if they are cheap enough.
If you're travelling in November then the ban being lifted this weekend or not is kinda irrelevant, though it might skew the prices if the news is confirmed. So making a move before the general population is wise to keep costs down.

You wanna match up some cheap flights with a TUI giveaway hotel deal mentioned above, it's like treasure chest of cheap hotels and Canary Islands are included.

il get on TUI now matey and have a look, £45 each way in November to Tenerife so not a massive gamble if it goes tits up, like you say as soon as quarentine is withdrawn those prices will rocket, Booking .com dont look to be much cheaper than pre virus but one big plus is you can pay at the hotel or for a few pounds get cancelation cover in case of no show

Just got back from Italy via Ryanair.
A few home truths.
Ryanair could not give a flying fuck about covid safety.
The usual pre covid bun fight to get to your seat and locker space.
Got on the outward flight and had to remove sweets and crisp remnants off our seats.
Cleaned, are they fuck! We landed in Italy and it’s the usual palaver with every twat and his sister trying to get their bags down before they even open the doors.
safe distancing? People were in your face getting off.
During the flight though, if you want a piss you have to ring and ask permission.
Not that anybody did.
I thought I ‘d be clever and fill in the UK passenger contact form on line.
Needn’t have bothered, no one asked to see it.
But I didn’t know about the paper one Ryanair make you fill in at boarding!
Weren’t interested about the Yougov form, this one is for the company sir.

last time I’ll fly with them. Especially when they get their first 737 MAXs delivered.

Oh and I forgot.
Going out seated in row 15.
Every seat in front filled.
Take off and after half an hour I look behind me.
The last third of the plane was literally empty!
