Holiday advice

ive backed off from booking ryanair flights in November,,its not going to happen, even if things are part back to normal the virus will still be here and social distance will still be required, there is no such thing as social distance on a ryanair flight or for that matter on any flight, November 21 is my next target and is more realistic

That still doesn’t mean you can’t have a refund if requested, they are trying to con people into thinking you can’t have one, when you clearly can. If they go under that credit means nothing. I’ll be asking for a full refund.
They would appear to be doing a poor job of conning people when it clearly states in the announcement that if you have asked for a cash refund they are processing them.

Processing those before 15 May, for those after you have to get a credit, then in the small print you can claim a full refund. So basically they are trying to con people into getting credit in thinking you’ll rebook and can’t get a refund, devil in the detail, why it say you can have a refund OR credit, why should you have to go through two processes to get you money, fucking con artists.

As I haven't got any holidays booked I haven't gone through the process so I am not in the same situation as yourself. I just read the announcement that was in the post you quoted. You said that you were going to ask for a refund so I hope you get your money back with as little hassle as poss. Not trying to be clever.

Are you covered in the event of the holiday co going bust. Insurance or travel association?

It’s been in the news, several times.
The line being pushed is that it’s keeping the industry alive and reforming refund rights could send companies to the wall.
No one has seriously challenged them over it.

Turns out that being a boring bastard like me who doesn't go abroad has its advantages.
