Holiday advice

This government has to make it illegal to sack someone who has to quarantine and give support to those who will not be paid.
My employer hasn't an issue with staff going to Spain, as long as they understand they'll only receive SSP upon their return for the two weeks quarantine.
They can't expect the company to pay them in full for the two weeks quarantine

Sorry, I was referring to people who are already there.

Government's handling of this has been shocking.

A nice solution would be for the govt to issue testing and results ASAP to those who's jobs will be at risk then reinfoce the message to those looking to travel that these "air bridges" are at risk of being pulled should infection rates increase in a particular country.
That would still require a 5 day quarantine though because of the incubation period.
Test, negative result, 5 day quarantine, test again.

Fair enough.

I suppose if your back in the office or required to work in shops etc, you'd take greater consideration when travelling on holiday despite govt giving the all clear to certain countries.

Now only essential travel to all Spanish destinations

Safer in the Balearic's and the Canaries than anywhere in the UK and zero deaths today? Looking like bye bye Majorca but fully dependent on TUI. Cheap too at £142 for a week @ a beach front gaff in the Ponsa and couldn't help but bite down hard on that fat juicy old worm.

These people whinging on tv about it all, you took the chance knowing there is a possibility this would happen, tough shit, The government can’t win no matter what they do, travel industry screaming for bridgeheads then when it goes tits up, it’s the governments fault. No it’s not, there’s a worldwide fucking pandemic is it really worth it for 7 days of sun a booze, about time people took responsibility for their own actions

So Rochdale is safer than the Balearic islands or Canaries then ? I am trying to escape from Covid not catch it.
