Because no one is getting away this year and there'll be that many credit notes that people will be looking to spend as soon as they get them, plus airlines will be looking to recoup this year's losses
Yes it will affect UK prices as well. There's bound to be a knock on affect. Holidaying in the UK hasn't been cheap for years and next year will be worse than ever price wise
Interesting. We've had 6 rebooking on our place so far. Only actually lost 1 booking. Trouble is we've had the money this year so won't get much turnover next year. We'd have been better cancelling this year's booking and selling next year's at a premium.....

Oh right I see,so trying to be funny, right I get you now,but as I say don't hold your breath whoever it's with

Not funny bud. You are sad. what don’t you understand about consumer law or section 75 credit card law?

There's a LOT of hotels and businesses around the world that need visitors, prices will find a level.
And a lot of people with double the dosh to spend
I'm not saying prices will double but I'd expect them to be at least 20% more than this year and maybe more in school holidays

Right, let's get one thing straight here "bud"-you came out with a flippant comment about me making a sacrifice that would help your cause in getting your money back, then 5 minutes later told me it wasn't with the same fucking travel company !

My point was back to you,I HOPE YOU DO,meaning quickly, but don't hold your breath, now I'm sad and don't understand apparently.

So to summarise,I lost £400,(Not on a credit card) and you took great pleasure in mocking,so cheers for that

Despite being told time after time by several posters that payment by credit card over £100 protects you you chose to throw away your deposit, thus handing the holiday company some money to help them stay afloat. This action makes it more likely that they will be able to return all monies to people who paid in full if holidays are cancelled. Furthermore using a credit card made the cc company equally and separately responsible for the purchase so even if TUI go under you are still covered for the costs.
I was not mocking you.
I was educating you.

feel free to bang your head against the nearest wall.

OK so now I know you are the resident Martin Lewis I'll ask your advice in future, but just one more thing for you to try and absorb for next time you put your teachers hat on,I don't have a credit card, now let me repeat that so you might be able to understand a little better next time you want to preach,I don't have a credit card.

Hope that eases things a little from your perspective, and you finally admit to trying to mock

Would anybody on here actually go abroad this year in the highly unlikely event of Spain , Italy , Greece etc reopening ??

In a full page article about the refund problems people are facing in yesterday’s Telegraph travel section TUI gave an assurance that everyone entitled to and requesting a cash refund will get one.

I was reading a story about Spain’s plans for resuming life after lockdown, and it doesn’t look good, apparently they are initially expecting to allow only primary businesses such as financial and manufacturing to restart sometime around July, with other businesses such as tourism being allowed to restart towards the end of the year.

I have an Easyjet flight to Nice booked for May 31st. As yet it is still scheduled...am I correct in assuming I need to wait for them to cancel it before I can insist on a refund?

Apologies for not reading the thread.

yes, they will send an email when they cancel with your options.
Once that happens you can also exercise your right to use sec 75 if a credit card over £100 or charge back if less than that to reclaim via your credit card.
However The foreign office have advised against all travel indefinitely so you can claim now against travel insurance if you have it.
