Holiday advice

Lesvos, Tinos, Serifos, Mykonos, Crete, Santorini and Zakynthos all just been added to the England quarantine list from 04.00 on Wednesday.

Now to start the process of getting the money refunded, not holding out much hope!

I'm going to call Jet2 tomorrow and see what they say, they'll no doubt cancel all flights by then. Can't see Tui refunding the hotel as they're some of the biggest cunts I've ever done business with. I've spat my dummy out over this, as I booked going off Grant Shapps' comments last week that "Wales and Scotland have jumped the gun"; only for him to go and action the exact same 3 days later. Another lying stuffed shirt within the Government.

I take the blame as it was risk with reward. Going to keep the eyes peeled, I'm adamant we are getting away to the sun somewhere next week. I've been a fool and put work first, we should've just gone at the start of the summer and had a great time like a lot did.

I'd be interested in hearing what Jet2 say, I guess like you say that it'll be a case of waiting for them cancel the flight. Can see them trying to fob us off with a credit voucher.

I totally get it was a risk but was holding out hope it would be fine. I put off going away early in the summer as I was hoping more countries would start to open up and I'd have more choice on where to go. Looking like the opposite now.

Jet2 will likely cancel the flights if the advice remains unchanged, but you're better off waiting for them to cancel them.
They are pretty good and quick at refunding.

TUI might be a tougher nut to crack, but if the FCO are advising against travel then that's a good yardstick to use for the refund chase.

Just swapped our October weekend in Zante for 5 nights in Halkidiki instead.
Changed the flights for free with Easyjet as the new flights are actually cheaper.
Hotel is another TUI special (£18pppn for 5* all inclusive)

Slight gamble for various reasons but another one worth the risk (I'd be a shite financial advisor)
Weather not gonna be quite as good and it's right at the end of the season as I think the hotel closes a couple of days after we leave (we're 7th to 12th)

I don't want people to copy haha but I will screengrab it so people can take a look if they wish and make their own decision.
The Manchester Easyjet flights are very cheap at the moment too.

If this one goes tits up then I'm retiring from holidays.

Looks cracking mate. Going off Twitter, Jet2 still plan to fly on flights only deals, but Tui are saying hotel only will be cancelled. Will give both a call later today.

Looks like another cracking deal, good luck with it! I'm going to keep looking at Greece and probably book very last minute to hopefully minimise the risk of it going on to the quarantine list.

Edit: Daily cases are slowly dropping so hopefully it'll remain good, especially now school holidays are over.

Factor in the return taxi transfer from Thesalonika and that equates to £163 for 5 nights all inclusive. Very nice looking hotel and a TUI rated 5 star, Very tempted and current Greece rates are still static at the 13 per 100,000. @dozzie26 where did you get the info for TUI cancelling the hotel?

I've been looking at the same hotel but much dearer for the 23/9 to 30/9. Think I may leave it last minute and book it if I can get a credit for the other. Will work out about 200 extra for the week as flights are cheaper.

Surprised no one has picked up that at least 2 of the Greek islands on the new list are only accessible by ferry from Athens, so there will be no way of knowing how many people flying back from Athens have been island hopping.

If your with easyjet they should offer you a voucher to spend in the next year.
Tui are being less than helpful.
Cheers for that, might book Thessaloniki with Easyjet too then. Worst case it's two credit vouchers which I'm sure I'll use in the next year.

Had seen them replying to people on Twitter. I just received an email from Tui now saying they've cancelled my hotel.

Jet2 have emailed offering to go ahead with the flights or we can amend them to a later date. I'm tempted to go and source other accommodation or via the Mrs who has family over there; decisions decisions. Been a bit of a silly twat as we were all set to fly to Athens and hop on an island from there, but I chose this deal as it was too good to turn down. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
