Can't think of any other solution, hopefully they will stand the cost.
TUI will stand on as you have their Covid guarantee but can't be much fun in an abroad quarantine gaff with little chance of pool view. Failing TUI's assistance we're still Europeans and have the same rights as the natives. Not sure I would relish the idea of being tested on entry though.

Most countries say it will be at the customers cost.
I think the canaries may buck that trend. They are desperate for tourists, I'm not sure if it is all of the canaries but certainly fuerteventura are effectively insuring all holidaymakers who get covid whilst in fuerteventura and offering free medical care.

got 5 days off from next Thursday so thinking of going Lanzarote for 5 days, infection rates seem low but would be paranoid about being put back on the quarantine list whilst out there, probably going to leave booking it till a couple of days before to keep an eye on any increase in covid rates, if ok can't see it being a problem as only doing 5 nights but still a concern...

Canary Islands visitors will require a negative covid test before being allowed in from November 10th.

I think you can put that idea to bed haha

Once the lockdown restrictions are lifted, deffo recommend anyone thinking of heading to Canaries to go for it.

Got back on Friday from a quick break in Gran Canaria (Puerto Rico), really enjoyed it. Had an 'early season' feel to it with some shops closed and others preparing to open again, but there was enough open to enjoy the days and nights and crowds nowhere to be seen.

Beer was so cheap, 1.50 EUR a pint of the local stuff.
Last orders called at 00.30 with you out or off the premises by 1am (probably the latest beer you can have in Europe at the moment)
Weather was fine.

The introduction of the test is going to be a bit of a pain, remains to be seen exactly what the test type is and if we can get it on arrival.

Amazing views from my balcony.

If you’re supposed to be flying to a country that is currently exempt from quarantine in a week does this mean you now can’t?

If you do manage to get away on holiday be aware that Manchester airport has put up its pick up and drop off prices from midnight.

Drop off
£5 for 5 minutes
£6 for 10 minutes
Over 10 minutes £25

Pick up
Up to 30 mins £6
Up to 1 hour £12
Up to 2 hours £15
Up to 4 hours £20
Up to 24 hours £55

Robbing bastards

Scum of the earth and no doubt blaming Covid for it, seems to be the cop out at the moment for poor service and theft. The amount they've profited could've paid for their facilities 10 times over.

I've noticed even the JetParks parking has gone through the roof at this place. I've avoided it of late and flown from Scuzzerville or Lids where possible; much less stressful experience too.

International travel other than for business purposes is banned. Though the restrictions announced earlier are for England, no idea what the current rules are for Wales, Scotland and N Ireland.
Not yet confirmed yet if it will be backed up by law or merely advisory.

Consensus seems to be that leisure flights will stop from the 5th, so in theory if you're due to depart on a package holiday before then then you're probably good to go.

Expect an update from the big hitters (Jet2, TUI etc) tomorrow in regards to how this will work, and no doubt a change in the FCO advice in the coming days.
