Was there for a couple of weeks in the early 90's and loved it. Flew to Catania and got the train to Palermo. Travelled around a fair bit by train and visited the island of Ustica for a few days.Anyone (well there will be I’m certain) done Sicily for a holiday, this doesn’t include 3 or 4 days on the piss watching City pre season, I mean a proper like holiday, thinking of September just me and Mrs whilst international break is on

Visit the Catacombe dei cappuccini in Palermo ... One of the strangest places I've ever visited.
Blind dog is brilliant!skiathos has plenty especially skiathos town
Krakow is a great City went in AprilOff to gran canary in a couple of weeks and just booked 4 nights in krakow in the old town any recommendations
A few years since I went so obviously the restaurants change but the main square is great in the summer evenings. Whenever we do a city break I always google ‘free walking tours’, you tip at the end and they’re generally really good with very knowledgeable guides. Auschwitz is a long day but a must do and the salt mines are good.Off to gran canary in a couple of weeks and just booked 4 nights in krakow in the old town any recommendations
stay at the hotel faro on the front in Faro. Free shuttle bus to a beach club and some great restaurants in Faro itself. only 10 mins from the airport too.Beach days bars & restauraunts with a bit of exploring. Went to Crete last year and loved it
We’ve just returned from Verona and it has great museums,History and obviously great Italian food.Well we enjoyed Prague, Bratislava and Vienna and I'm now thinking where next. Trouble is I really hate airports so we're thinking about a Eurostar thing and seeing a few cities by train. I'm reckon Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam. Should be simple and fun, but I'm open to other suggestions for a couple of 60 year olds who like food, art, museums and a decent cocktail lounge.
I don't fly so spend a lot of time travelling around Europe by train. This is a very good website that maybe will give you some ideas https://www.seat61.com/Well we enjoyed Prague, Bratislava and Vienna and I'm now thinking where next. Bruges and Ghent are easy to do from Brussels and worth a visit if you want to add another stop or two. Belgian trains pretty efficient.Well we enjoyed Prague, Bratislava and Vienna and I'm now thinking where next. One of my boys and I have been to Cologne a few times as it’s a good base for the football. From there we’ve been up to games at Duisburg, Aachen, Wuppertal and Viktoria Koln itself (we don’t go to any games above the third tier).Well we enjoyed Prague, Bratislava and Vienna and I'm now thinking where next. We looked at boats as an option for this year, and maybe another time, but they just didn't gel with me and Mrs Aux. A fair chunk of money to travel somewhere slowly, when we'd rather hop on a train. One of my boys and I have been to Cologne a few times as it’s a good base for the football. Cologne itself is a nice city, the cathedral is obviously spectacular. Aside from that it’s not the prettiest town but plenty going on and very welcoming. The Roman museum is being redeveloped which is a shame. I’m a big fan of the Kolsch beer houses too…
Tbh if you’re looking at Cologne and not a fan of flights then maybe look at what boats you can catch up and down the Rhine?
Golf buggy tour of krakow was very good.Off to gran canary in a couple of weeks and just booked 4 nights in krakow in the old town any recommendations
Krakow is a great City went in April
Loads to see and do
Salt Mines,Aushwitz(which is obviously quite a sobering experience)
Jewish quarter, loads of history ,nice pretty old town.
Some great restaurants and bars in the Jewish area Kazimierz
If you can get a reservation Starka was very good they make their own vodka there.
Loads of good craft beer places too though bars are pricey in the main square.
Went to Brussels a few months back and enjoyed it all right - couple of days max though . City centre is nice but personally found the rest a little bit grotty (and I usually dont get too bothered by crumminess/run down areas etc)Well we enjoyed Prague, Bratislava and Vienna and I'm now thinking where next.
